Koh-Lanta: Le Combat des Héros is the fifth special season of Koh-Lanta and the twenty-second season overall. It was broadcast on TF1 from March 16 to May 25, 2018.

Clémence Castel defeated Pascal Silviani in a 5-4 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.

Twists/Changes

• All-Stars: Eighteen former castaways returned for another shot at the title of Sole Survivor.
• Exile Island: In a similar format to the American twist, this new island will work just like Redemption Island. For the first six rounds, before the tribes merge, when a player gets eliminated from the game, they still have a chance to reintegrate the game. They will go to Exile Island, where they will fend for himself during their entire stay. When the next person gets voted out, the two players will compete in a "duel". The winner gets to stay at the island, while the loser is eliminated from the game for good. When the tribes merge, the last person standing will return to the main game and will continue their pursuit of the cash prize and the title of Sole Survivor.
• Impromptu Tribal Council: In Episode 1, the first Tribal Council is held immediately after the Day 1 Immunity Challenge, at the challenge site.
• No Replacements: In regular seasons of Koh-Lanta, if a castaway is medically evacuated, the castaway eliminated at the previous Tribal Council has the opportunity to come back in the game (a new castaway is added to the game if someone is evacuated before the first Tribal). This is not the case this season.
• Tribe Switch: A Reward Challenge occurred on Day 10, where the last two remaining will get to determine the new tribes, with the last one of the two remaining getting to choose first. The first person to be eliminated from this challenge would be penalized with a vote at their next Tribal Council.
• Ambassadors: At the merge, both tribes send an ambassador to a meeting. Their purpose is to directly eliminate a castaway from the game, and if the two ambassadors do not agree on a name, one of the two is eliminated by a rock draw. This season, the ambassadors are chosen by their own tribe.
• Elimination Challenge: The castaway finishing last in the challenge Immunity Challenge on Day 20 is directly eliminated from the game.
• Black Vote: The black vote keeps the mechanics introduced in Cambodge and Fidji; starting from the first post-merge Tribal Council, the person voted out gives to a remaining castaway the power to vote twice at the following Tribal Council.
• Tied Destinies: On Day 22, the eight people remaining are divided into four pairs by a rock drawing. Until the next Tribal Council, the fate of each contestant is linked to their partner: the challenges are competed by pairs, and the person voted out at Tribal Council causes their partner's demise.
