Koh-Lanta: L'Île des Héros is the 24th season of Koh-Lanta, the French version of Survivor.

Twists

• Newbies vs. Veterans: For this season, there are 5 returning players who will compete against 14 new players.
• Island of the Heroes: At the beginning of the game, the five returning players are sent to a Heroes' Island where they will have to fend for themselves during the first few rounds of the game. They will have two opportunities to earn their spot in the game, by a winning a challenge. When both challenges have been run and four veterans have joined a tribe, the remaining one is sent packing.
• Immunity Necklaces: A first challenge is held at the marooning, before the tribes are formed, where two Immunity Necklaces (equivalent of Hidden Immunity Idols in Koh-Lanta) are up for grabs. The first necklace is only working at the first Tribal Council the holder attends, while the second necklace, harder to retrieve, is working util the merge.
• Replacements: Due to three evacuations, three castaways returned into the game after being eliminated.
• Ambassadors: Each tribe chooses a hero and a newbie from the opposite tribe to become the ambassadors. Their purpose is to directly eliminate a castaway from the game, and if the four ambassadors do not agree on a name, one of the four is eliminated. First a rock draw is held to determine which team loses the meeting and the two losers battle it out for their spot in the game.
• Black Vote: The black vote keeps the mechanics introduced in Cambodge: starting from the first post-merge Tribal Council, the person voted out gives to a remaining castaway the power to vote twice at the following Tribal Council.
• Penalty Vote after Challenge: Four castaways received a penalty vote after they finished in last place in a post-merge challenge.
• Tied Destinies: On Day 22, the ten people remaining are divided into five pairs by a rock draw. Until the next Tribal Council, the fate of each contestant is linked to their partner: the challenges are competed by pairs, and the person voted out at Tribal Council causes their partner's demise.
• Elimination Challenge: The castaway finishing last in the challenge Immunity Challenge on Day 30 is directly eliminated from the game.

Notes: ^1At both of the Heroes' entry challenges, the Heroes who won their way into one of the two tribes were given individual immunity at the following Tribal Council should their new tribe lose the corresponding challenge. Therefore, Moussa had individual immunity in Episode 2 and Claude has it in Episode 3. ^2Delphine was the ambassadors' choice to eliminate right before the merge. ^3As Éric and Pholien were tied for the most votes, everybody voted a second time to decide which one of them would leave the game. ^4After winning the Reward Challenge, Teheiura decided to give up his reward so that everybody else could enjoy it in his place. ^5Due to the Covid-19 epidemic and the subsequent isolation taking place in France, the eighth episode was divided in two parts in an attempt to preserve the Live Finale. Therefore, only the Reward Challenge was broadcast on April 17. The Immunity Challenge and Tribal Council were broadcast on April 24. ^6As Charlotte and Éric were tied for the most votes, everybody voted a second time to decide which one of them would leave the game. ^7Teheiura was Charlotte's partner during the pairs twist, therefore he was also eliminated when she was voted out. ^8Due to the Covid-19 epidemic and the subsequent isolation taking place in France, the twelfth episode was divided in two parts in an attempt to preserve the Live Finale. Trivia

• This is second Koh-Lanta season to have a cast made up of both new contestants and returning players, following France.
  • However, while the new contestants in Le Choc des Héros were famous athletes, this season's new contestants are ordinary people.
