Keep on Your Toes is a recurring endurance challenge in Survivor. It first appeared in Survivor: Cagayan and has reappeared in Worlds Apart, Game Changers, Edge of Extinction, and Survivor 41.
Rules[]
Castaways would each stand on a small wooden perch in a rectangular frame, adjusted to their height. Standing on their toes, they would brace a wooden block on their head and keep it in place using the wooden board above them. If they fall off the frame, drop their block, or touch either the structure or their block, they would be out of the challenge. The last person left standing wins.
History[]
United States[]
The challenge debuted in Cagayan, where it came down to Spencer Bledsoe and Tasha Fox. After 1 hour and 22 minutes,[1] Tasha's block dropped, giving Spencer individual immunity.
In Worlds Apart, the challenge came down to Jenn Brown and Tyler Fredrickson. After over 30 minutes, Jenn's block dropped, giving Tyler individual immunity.
In Game Changers, the challenge came down to Andrea Boehlke and Tai Trang. After over 25 minutes, Tai failed to save his block from falling, giving Andrea individual immunity.
In Edge of Extinction, the challenge came down to Aurora McCreary, Lauren O'Connell, and Victoria Baamonde. After becoming dizzy, Lauren passed out and fell, with the medical team being summoned to check on her. The challenge continued as Lauren came to and was cleared. In the meantime, Aurora negotiated with Victoria for the win, to no avail. Regardless, after an undisclosed amount of time, Victoria's block suddenly dropped, giving Aurora individual immunity.
In Survivor 41, the challenge was used as the final eleven Immunity Challenge. Four members of the Viakana tribe sat out in exchange for four days' worth of rice for the tribe. The challenge came down to Evvie Jagoda and Heather Aldret. After barely 4 minutes, Heather dropped her block, giving Evvie individual immunity.
Australia[]
Quebec[]
South Africa[]
The challenge appeared as the final seven Immunity Challenge of Return of the Outcasts. For winning the previous reward, Phil Dickson (and Tejan Pillay, who used his Reward Send Token), won a Challenge Advantage and started the challenge five minutes after their competitors. Marian de Vos dropped out before Phil and Tejan even started the challenge, while Tejan dropped out shortly after he got on his toes. At the ten-minute mark, the castaways were instructed to continue the challenge without bracing the structure. Ultimately, Phil beat Felix Godlo to win his second individual Immunity Challenge.
