Katurah Topps is a contestant from Survivor 45.

Notable for her feud with returning player Bruce Perreault, Katurah largely aligned with the Reba Four alliance, driven by her desire to rid herself of her rival even to her game's detriment. Despite succeeding in this endeavor, Katurah eventually found herself unable to sway against the dominant alliance. Her fate was sealed by a last-minute decision on Day 24 when, motivated by a lack of trust, she reneged on her deal with Jake O'Kane to blindside Dee Valladares. Dee's survival and subsequent win at the Final Immunity Challenge forced Katurah to compete in the fire-making challenge, which she lost to Jake.

3 Words to Describe You: Calculating, determined, unexpected
Why do you want to be part of Survivor? To remind myself of the power that the brave and multidimensional woman inside of me holds. And also because I firmly believe that doing things that scare the crap outta you is truly living.
What's one life experience you feel has prepared you for the game? Walking through the world as a Black person, a woman, a queer person, and a child of poverty.
Which previous player do you identify with the most? Who do you think you will play most like? Natalie and Spencer, for their never-quit attitudes. I think I'll have a mixture of Natalie's determination, with a tiny bit of Rob's manipulative leadership (but not overboard). But overall, I think I'll be a new player entirely.
What will you value in an alliance partner? Loyalty so unrelenting that it's illogical. (Think Laurel's loyalty to Wendell.)
Favorite Hobbies: Hot yoga, eating delicious food in gorgeous locations, and countering systemic racism.
Pet Peeves: Slow walkers, slow talkers, and people who ooze privilege.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Successfully switching my life from just "surviving" to actually "thriving."
What is something we would never know from looking at you? I speak French. Oh, and I'm almost color blind.
Who in your life is your biggest inspiration and why? Katurah, the child. That little girl faced some of the most unimaginable obstacles, yet still decided to protect herself, become a civil rights lawyer, and break generational curses, and she grew up and did exactly that!
Why will you be the Sole Survivor: Because I've been preparing for it for life (even when I didn't realize it)!^[2]

Notes: ^1 Katurah drew the grey rock and had to sit out of the challenge, but if she guessed the winning team correctly, she would win reward and immunity as well. Katurah guessed correctly. ^2 The challenge was played for team reward and individual immunity, with the last person standing winning reward for their team. Katurah did not win immunity, but was on the team that won the reward. ^3 Katurah elected to sit out of the challenge to help her tribe win a supply of rice. ^4 The castaways first competed as three teams for reward. Only the members of the winning team would have the right to compete for individual immunity.

^1 In "I'm Not Batman, I'm the Canadian", Kaleb successfully played his Shot in the Dark, negating Katurah's vote against him. Because Kaleb negated all the votes cast at Tribal Council, a vote restart was held between all the non-immune players. Katurah changed her vote to J. Maya on the restart.
^2 In "Sword of Damocles", Katurah became ineligible to vote after finishing last in the first stage of the Immunity Challenge.
^3 In "This Game Rips Your Heart Out", Julie used a Hidden Immunity Idol, negating Katurah's vote against her.
^4 In "Living the Survivor Dream", Jake used a Hidden Immunity Idol on Katurah, negating 1 vote against her.

Katurah is the sixth person to be voted out with only one vote cast against her during an entire season, following Terry Deitz in Panama, Lauren Beck in Island of the Idols, Sandra Diaz-Twine in Winners at War, Jesse Lopez in Survivor 43, and Maddy Pomilla in Survivor 44.
- She is the third person with this distinction who was not eliminated directly by their sole vote, following Lauren and Jesse. All three were instead eliminated by the fire-making challenge at the final four.
