Katie was a member of the abortive Kalabaw women's alliance that was thwarted when Dana Lambert became too sick to continue playing. She was eventually eliminated due to her weakness in challenges and her isolation from the main Kalabaw Alliance.

Pet Peeves: I hate bitchy, conceited girls. Those are the girls I love to beat when I compete against them in beauty pageants.
3 Words to Describe You: Very outgoing, athletic and intelligent.
If You Could Have 3 Things on The Island What Would They Be and Why?
1) Toilet paper – for obvious reasons and to help start a fire.
2) A toothbrush – gotta have fresh breath for the hot guys on the island.
3) My Miss Delaware Sweater – it can keep me warm at night and it also reminds me that if I put my mind to something I can accomplish it!
Survivor Contestant You Are Most Like: Danni Boatwright! I respect her because she proved that pageant girls can kick ass on Survivor and take home the million dollars. It will happen again!
Reason for Being on Survivor: Winning money and challenges! And, meeting the guy of my dreams!
Why You Think You'll "Survive" Survivor: I love the outdoors which means I will be able to build shelter and catch food. I am very athletic so I know I will be beneficial to my tribe and help us win the Immunity Challenges.

Katie started out on the Kalabaw tribe. She instantly followed Jeff Kent's idea on taking out the returning player. Kalabaw, along with Tandang, went on a giant winning streak against Matsing, winning the first four Immunity Challenges.
As the days went by, Katie soon figured out that Jonathan was talking to Carter Williams and Jeff and thought that they were making a male alliance. Katie got angry so she created a female alliance with Sarah Dawson and Dana Lambert. Kalabaw then absorbed Denise Stapley into their tribe, and lost the next challenge. Soon, Katie lost an ally, when Dana quit because of her medical condition. Even though Dawson was her ally, Katie voted for her at the following Tribal Council. At the next challenge, Katie performed poorly and was openly berated by Jeff Probst. She hoped, however, that the rest of Kalabaw would still be targeting Penner, since he had already played twice before. However, it wasn't enough, and she was voted out 4-1.

Katie and her family on Mother's Day, 2020
- Katie married Bradford Chase on May 9, 2015.[2][3] The couple had one son prior to the wedding and has since had two more sons.[4]
