Julia Carter is a contestant from Survivor: Edge of Extinction.

Assigned on the dominant Kama tribe, Julia quietly built several relationships from both tribes that seemed in her favor for the merge. However, an unprecedentedly tempestuous Tribal Council resulted in the tribe turning on her, with the minority Manu Alliance whom she dismissed as "passengers” aligning with the Kama outsiders to vote her out.

Age: 24
Hometown: Hazleton, Pennsylvania
Current residence: Bethesda, Maryland
Occupation: Medical Assistant
Hobbies: Traveling, shopping, and eating.
Pet peeves: Being ignored, loud chewing, and when people document EVERYTHING on social media.
Three words to describe you: Adventurous, resilient, and personable.
What is your personal claim to fame? I definitely feel proud to be the first in the family to graduate college and pave the way for my younger sister and family members.
Who or what is your inspiration in life? My mom. She has faced some of life's hardest challenges but she has remained beautiful inside and out and kept her optimism intact. I can only hope to be as strong as she is.
If you could have three things on the island, what would they be and why?
Pen and paper to document my thoughts, stories, and strategy.
A radio or something to play music because music keeps me going.
Picture of my family. Everything I do is for them. This would help me get through rough times in the game.
Which Survivor contestant are you the most like? Jeremy! He was a physical beast, but he was strategic in his use of Idols, loyal to his alliance, and overall honest and personable in his gameplay. He was a well-rounded player.
What's your reason for being on Survivor? It has been my dream to be on Survivor since I started watching as a kid. It started after the passing of my father, and in a sense, it helped me "survive" my own challenges. I want to prove to myself I can do this. To win a million dollars is also a huge motivation. I have many student loans and I want to be able to help my sister and mother.
Why do you think you'll "survive" Survivor? I am a team player and an excellent communicator. I have charm and wits and I am not afraid to make risky moves.[2]

Survivor[]

Julia was initially placed on the Kama tribe, where she soon became a member of the Kama Six alliance against the tribe's returning players, Aubry Bracco and Joe Anglim, with Aubry as the alliance's main target as they wanted to use Joe as a shield. However, their plans did not come immediately into fruition as Kama won the first three Immunity Challenges. When a Tribe Switch occurred on Day 9, Julia remained on Kama with her alliance members Julie Rosenberg and Ron Clark, along with Joe and another outsider, Aurora McCreary. The remnants of the Kama Six set their sights on targeting Joe next, since Aubry was switched to the rival Manu tribe. However, Kama continued their dominance in challenges, finishing first in every challenge after the switch. After winning the Day 14 Reward Challenge, Joe talked with Julia about how they were viewed as physical threats and that they should work together, which Julia took into consideration.

Due to Kama's extensive winning streak, Julia was one of eight out of nine Kama members that stayed intact going into the merge on Day 17, joining the newly merged Vata tribe. After the first individual Immunity Challenge on Day 19, despite wanting to use their numbers advantage against the minority Manu Alliance, Ron approached the Kama Six alliance about targeting Joe for being a physical threat. At Tribal Council, Julia joined the rest of the Kama Six alliance in blindsiding Joe.

However, following Joe's elimination, the Manu Alliance scrambled to dethrone the Kama Six by targeting its leaders Ron and Eric Hafemann. Following the next Immunity Challenge on Day 22, Wardog DaSilva had side conversations with Julia and Gavin Whitson, saying that Eric and Ron were going to use Manu outsiders David Wright and Rick Devens to take her, Gavin, and Victoria Baamonde out down the line. When Julia asked Eric about voting David out next, Eric refused to commit, prompting her, Gavin, and Victoria to turn on Eric and Ron. At Tribal Council, Julia, Aurora, Gavin, and Victoria flipped on the Kama contingent and joined the Manu Alliance in blindsiding Eric.

After Eric's elimination, the Manu Alliance had David as their next target, though Julia felt threatened by the trio of Wardog, Kelley Wentworth, and Lauren O'Connell. After the following Immunity Challenge, Julia wanted to reunite the Kama Six and target Kelley, but Julia's allegiances frustrated Gavin. At Tribal Council, Julia made a comment about how the original Manu members were merely passengers in the game. However, her and Aurora's comments resulted in a lengthy chaotic series of discussions with the Manu Alliance coming up with a new plan on the spot. Julie, after being left out of the previous vote, felt like she was on the outs of the Kama alliance and jumped ship by throwing Julia's name out. The chaos that ensued led the entire tribe except Aurora to turn on Julia, sending her to the Edge of Extinction as the sixth member of the jury.

Julia stayed on the Edge of Extinction until Day 35 where she competed in the re-entry challenge along with ten other people, but lost the duel to Chris Underwood, eliminating her and nine others. After losing the challenge, Julia revealed that her father had passed away when she was 7 years old and that her time on the Edge of Extinction helped her finally find her strength.

At the Final Tribal Council, Julia questioned Julie using her emotions as strategy in the game. When Gavin argued about Chris' statement saying that the Edge of Extinction was a disadvantage to him as he was on there for most of the season, Julia dismissed Gavin's argument by telling him that the game has evolved and that the Edge of Extinction was the theme of the season. She also argued with Gavin saying that Chris played with the days that he had left in the game and that Gavin did not make any of the big moves that Chris had made during his time back in the game. In the end, Julia cast her jury vote for Chris, helping him to beat Gavin and Julie in a 9-4-0 vote to win the title of Sole Survivor.
