Joel Betts is a contestant from Australian Survivor (2002).
Joel was initially on the minority on Tipara, thinking that there were not any alliances. However, after successfully Pagonging the Kadina tribe, he was blindsided when Lance Brooks was voted off. In self-preservation, he made a deal with Rob Dickson and Sciona Browne to take him to the final three, and in return, he will throw the Final Immunity Challenge. The plan went through, and he was voted out by Rob just one day before the Final Tribal Council.

^1 In "Cockiness Comes to an End", the vote ended with a 3-3 tie between Joel and Jane, forcing a revote. Nobody changed their vote on the revote, eliminating Jane due to previous votes against her.

- In April 2010, Joel was arrested and jailed after he attempted to murder his girlfriend at the time.[2]

- Joel is the youngest male to compete on Australian Survivor (2002).
- Joel and Jane Dalton are the first castaways on Australian Survivor to be involved in a tie at Tribal Council and subsequently the first to be involved in a deadlock tie.
