For the opening challenge for rice and for the power to choose their tribemates, Jessica was partnered with Irya Cissé, Céga Coulibaly, and Hakim Djellali. The team of Nathalie Ensargueix, Frédéric Favier, Christopher Lavaud, and Carole Rapin won the challenge and they did not select Jessica to be a part of the Tayak tribe. Therefore, Jessica became a member of the Mingao tribe. Jessica developed the most affinity with Charlène Hoffness and the pair entered a loose majority alliance with Régis Colombier and Jean-Bernard Hauton-Arnaud. The Tayak tribe initially won the first Reward Challenge, in which the reward was fire, but the victory and the reward were transferred to the Mingao tribe later that day as it was discovered that Frédéric and Christopher had broken the rules at one point in the challenge. Apart from this, the Tayak tribe's obvious strength over the Mingao tribe worked in their favour in challenges, allowing for the former to ulong the latter. In order to try to stop this from happening, the Mingao tribe generally focused on eliminating weak links whenever they had to go to Tribal Council. When the Mingao tribe lost the first Immunity Challenge, Jessica's alliance voted out Irya as they felt that, between Irya and Valérie Tartacède-Bollaert, Irya was the weakest link on the tribe.
Respectively, when Valérie quit the game on Day 4 due to being out of her element and when Céga was evacuated and eliminated from the game on Day 5 due to intense stomach pain, Irya returned to the game on Day 5 in Valérie's place and joker contestant Alain Garcia entered the game on Day 7 in Céga's place. The day before Alain's arrival, the Mingao tribe had lost the second Immunity Challenge and, at the corresponding Tribal Council, Jessica's alliance had voted out Irya again. Alain arrived at the Mingao camp with a bag of rice as a welcoming gift and he was well-received by his new tribemates. Though the Mingao tribe lost the third Reward Challenge, they won the third Immunity Challenge mainly due to Jean-Bernard's strategy to swim in front of the raft. This would be the only time that the Mingao tribe won an Immunity Challenge. When the Mingao tribe lost the fourth Immunity Challenge, Alain was worried that he would get the axe at the corresponding Tribal Council because he was the newest tribe member. At Tribal Council, Denis Brogniart discussed with the Mingao tribe about their lack of communication, especially during the last two challenges, which prompted the tribe to designate Jean-Bernard as their leader. Charlène and Jessica voted against Alain, but the tribe's men prioritized strength over affiliation and they blindsided Jessica, who they felt was the new weakest link.
