Jerri Lynn Manthey is a contestant from Survivor: The Australian Outback, Survivor: All-Stars, and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.
Regarded as the series' first "villainess", Jerri was known for her initial acerbic personality which led to her being considered the main antagonist of The Australian Outback. In Australian Outback, she was known for her alliance and friendship with Amber Brkich , love-hate relationship with Colby Donaldson , and abrasive personality. The latter however contributed to her blindside at the final 8.
In All-Stars she got her revenge on Colby by contributing to his elimination, but was voted out at the final 10, falling victim to Rob Mariano's deal with Lex van den Berghe to save Amber in exchange for Rob's protection. Her popularity however worsened to the extent of her bring booed of the stage in Reunion Show.
She returned in Heroes vs. Villains many years later, but assumed a more friendly, likable demeanor and played a subtle social game. She started as a member of Rob's Villains Alliance, but ended up switching to Russell's Villains Alliance and playing a pivotal role in Rob's elimination. She made it all the way to the final 4, only to be blindsided as Russell Hantz feared that she was a huge threat to win, causing her to fall one day short of the Final Tribal Council.

Jerri Manthey has been living in Los Angeles, California, for the last six years, pursuing her acting career while bartending to help pay the bills. She credits her acting coach, Manu Tupou, with whom she has been studying with for four years, for pushing her beyond her own limitations and encouraging her to write and direct, as well. Her biggest accomplishment was a play that she and her best friend wrote, directed and produced, titled Beautiful Chaos, for the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles. Additionally, she has had roles in various independent films, commercials, and feature films, including the telefilm That Championship Season. As Manthey puts it, she grew up an "army brat"; her father served 28 years in the United States Army, having retired in 1997. Due to the military way of life, she moved every three to four years of her childhood, spending a total of 12 years on various Army bases in Germany. Graduating from high school in 1988 in Neu Ulm, she then attended the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany. Manthey describes herself as adventurous, fun loving, spontaneous, honest, and kind. Her favorite hobbies include photography, cooking, painting, writing, reading, and her all-time favorite, camping. She enjoys hiking and/or backpacking to very remote, unknown places in order to escape the craziness of Los Angeles. Her favorite event is Burning Man, a festival that takes place every year in the vast, barren Black Rock desert of Nevada. She has gone for the last two years and says she will go every year for as long as she lives or until the event no longer takes place. At Burning Man 2000, she and a group of friends from all over California organized a theme camp and stayed for 12 days. They built their own shelter and brought all the supplies necessary to survive in the harsh environment and extreme weather. Manthey named their temporary residence "Camp Chaos" and adopted the slogan "The Ultimate Order Lies in Chaos," a motto she believes applies directly to her life. A perfect day for Manthey always begins with a cup of coffee! Then, a hike in one of the various canyons of Los Angeles, playing with her dog Gidget and her cat Kiya, writing in her journal, surfing the net, e-mailing, watching a good movie, spending time with a close friend over dinner, and curling up with a good book. Her favorite movies are The Big Lebowski and Search for the Holy Grail. Her favorite TV shows are The Sopranos and Sex and the City. She enjoys all types of music-depending on her mood- ranging from Al Green and Barry White to Creed and Tonic. When she's ready to dance, she enjoys funky, soulful, house music. Manthey was born in Bad Konstatt Hospital on the Army base in Stuttgart, Germany. She is proud to report that her mother and father—both from South Dakota—are still together and happily married. She has two brothers and one sister. Her birth date is September 5, 1970.[1]
Since her eighth-place finish on Survivor: The Australian Outback, Jerri Manthey continued acting, something she was doing long before appearing on the show. She has established her own company, Velocity Productions, which develops and produces film and television projects, as well as private party events. For the last year, she has also been a part of a sketch comedy group called "Blow Girl!," a subsidiary of The Blow Show in Hollywood. She has also appeared in many television shows, including "The Surreal Life," "Joe Schmo" and "The Other Half." She also recently wrote, produced and starred in a film titled "A Mind of A Woman." In September, 2001, Jerri appeared on the cover of Playboy and was the highest-selling issue of the year. She also conducts speaking engagements and works for a number of charities, including Boarding for Breast Cancer, Camp Kindle (a camp for children afflicted with HIV/AIDS), Angels on the Fairway (for battered women and children) and Last Chance For Animals. Jerri enjoys cooking and has worked as a private chef for various high-profile celebrities. She specializes in catering to vegetarians and those with restricted diets. She is currently working on her own cookbook of favorite recipes. She has also begun to take lessons performing the art of spinning fire, a modern interpretation of the ancient Maori tradition, Poi Spinning. She performs at the annual Burning Man, a festival that takes place every year in the vast, barren Black Rock desert of Nevada, as well as various other local events. She also enjoys camping, painting, filmmaking, writing, dancing, skiing, hiking, desert road trips, collecting quotes, entertaining friends and living life to the fullest and lives by her motto: "When it's no longer fun, that's when I'm done!" Jerri quickly made enemies within her Ogakor tribe, notably Keith Famie over his questionable cooking. Ogakor won the first Immunity Challenge on Day 3, thus sparing Jerri.
In an infamous Survivor moment, Jerri accused Kel Gleason of eating beef jerky without the consent of the tribe, angering his starving tribemates. Jerri, Amber Brkich, and Tina Wesson looked through his bag to see if there was any beef jerky, but there was none. Kel overheard the conversation and confronted the tribe, most of whom believed he had been eating beef jerky. Maralyn Hershey, who believed Kel did not have any beef jerky, told Jerri to apologize to Kel, but Jerri refused.
After Ogakor lost the second Immunity Challenge, Jerri came up as a target because of her rough personality and her general unpleasantness. She herself was seeking to vote out Kel because she considered him a liar and a cheater. Her arguments won over her tribemates, and the tribe eliminated Kel unanimously.
Jerri later confessed that she was attracted to tribemate Colby Donaldson, and tried ways to lure him to potentially make an alliance. Much to her chagrin, Colby seemed unaffected.

After the tribes merged into the Barramundi tribe, she and the rest of the remaining Ogakors stayed strong during the first two Tribal Councils, eliminating two of their former Kucha opponents. But Colby, Keith, and Tina felt that they could now afford losing one of their won since they would still have the majority, and with the help of the three remaining Kucha members, Jerri was their first victim.
At the Final Tribal Council, as a juror, she cast her vote for eventual winner Tina.

All-Stars
Jerri's iconic showing in The Australian Outback earned her a spot in Survivor: All-Stars, where she was placed on the Saboga tribe.
Despite her resolve to not be overly-opinionated, she and Rupert Boneham argued over conflicting plans for a Reward Challenge, where were requested to create the best tribe shelter. After the argument, the tribe decided to follow Rupert's plan, digging an underground log cabin. Not only did they lose the challenge, but they found their shelter ineffective during a storm, with the log cabin completely filled with water, leaving Saboga unprotected from the harsh weather, making Jerri very emotional. Despite her tribe's misfortunes, Jerri rallied Saboga to win their first Immunity Challenge on Day 11. The victory was short-lived, when Saboga lost the following special challenge, where Saboga would be dissolved, while its remaining members will be distributed to the other two tribes. Jerri, along with Ethan Zohn, went to Mogo Mogo, where she was reunited with Colby Donaldson.
After helping the tribe voting out Richard Hatch, Jerri decided to seek revenge for Colby's perceived mistreatment of her back in The Australian Outback. With Colby gone, Jerri helped the tribe eliminate his closest ally Ethan (the last former winner and Jerri's tribemate from Saboga), making him the next to go.
On Day 22, the tribes anticipated a merge, only to reveal a tribe switch. Remarkably, the random shuffle resulted in every member of Mogo Mogo trading places with a member of Chapera, leaving Amber Brkich as the only remaining Chapera member on a tribe with Jerri, Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien, Lex van den Berghe, and Shii Ann Huang. Jerri was delighted to be with her "Outback Sister".
After Chapera lost the next Immunity Challenge, Amber's closest ally Rob Mariano felt distraught at the prospect of Amber being sent home - and immediately made a hasty protection deal with Lex after the challenge. Lex was forced to weigh his options: either throwing a wrench in Rob and the former Chapera members' plans in the event of a merge, or cutting loose his loyal ally Jerri. Eventually, with Kathy's help, Lex decided to boot Jerri, who was voted out unanimously.

Heroes vs. Villains

Jerri's notoriety earned her a spot on the Villains tribe. Jerri initially had a special friendship with fellow Villain Coach Wade, with their tribemates often teasing them about the "Dragon Slayer" and the "Black Widow" being lovers. At first, Jerri was aligned with Coach, Courtney Yates, Rob Mariano, Sandra Diaz-Twine, and Tyson Apostol, and played a part in the split vote during the Double Tribal Council on Day 15, but eventually she became, a focal point to Russell Hantz' rise to power over the Villains tribe by helping his alliance, comprising of outsiders Parvati Shallow, whom Jerri heavily disliked, and Danielle DiLorenzo, to vote out Russell's archenemy Rob.
At the first post-merge vote, the Heroes and Villains were tied at 5-5. Parvati, who had two Hidden Immunity Idols (she found one and was given another one from Russell, who got it from J.T. Thomas following the last tribal Immunity Challenge), used an idol on Sandra, and in order to "sweeten their odds", gave one to Jerri as well. All the Heroes voted for Jerri, but because of the Hidden Immunity Idol, all votes cast against her were negated. This eventually became the subsequent downfall of the Heroes. She eventually won one Reward Challenge and one Immunity Challenge (much to her delight, as it was her first immunity win). When Russell wanted to get rid of Danielle for being too close to Parvati on Day 33, Jerri once again became a pivotal swing vote and played a part in Danielle's elimination after Danielle unintentionally revealed that Jerri was never part of their alliance. Russell feared that Jerri might win because of her popularity (and stipulated that the final four was also comprised of Parvati and Sandra, both of whom are former winners). Russell also deemed that even if he voted her out, she would still vote for him at the Final Tribal Council. This theory seemed to be correct during Jerri's post elimination confessional, but soon turned turned out to be wrong when Parvati revealed Russell's true reason for voting out Jerri, who was appalled by this thought and his behavior towards the jurors at the Final Tribal Council. She cast her vote for Parvati, who lost to Sandra, who became the only two-time winner in Survivor history.

Post-Survivor
- In May 2001, Jerri appeared as an Panelist on Hollywood Squares along with other castaways from The Australian Outback for Survivor Week. Jerri appeared in two episodes, The first as an Individual Panelist[4] and in the second, she shared a Square with Amber Brkich.[5]

- Jerri appeared on The Young and the Restless on May 28, 2001.[6]
- In the 2001 movie Scary Movie 2, Jerri was mentioned as being an "unholy bitch kicked off Survivor", possibly due to her villainous approach in her first season.
- Jerri posed nude in the September 2001 issue of Playboy.
- Jerri also appeared in the movies Destiny (2002) and Komodo vs. Cobra (2005), with her character even making a Survivor reference in the latter movie.
- Jerri worked as a sideline reporter on the TV series Extreme Dodgeball during its first season, but did not return for the second or third season.[7]
- Jerri played on the game show Russian Roulette for charity. She made it to final round,[8] but dropped anyway.
- In the summer of 2005, Jerri, along with Richard Hatch, Susan Hawk, Gervase Peterson, and Burton Roberts, competed on the Bravo reality show Battle of the Network Reality Stars. She was on the light blue tribe.[9]
- Jerri also appeared in the music video for Faith Hill's version of Piece Of My Heart.[10] She also is currently an official cast member on TMI, a weekly sketch comedy show.
- Dick Donato of Big Brother 8 and Big Brother 13 mentioned her on the show during season 8, stating that they dated at one point.
- On January 9, 2010, Jerri attended Survivor's 10-year anniversary party along with all of her Heroes vs. Villains cast mates.[11]
- In February 2010, Jerri appeared on Late Show with David Letterman as Top Ten List Presenter #10 along with nine of her Heroes vs. Villains cast mates.[12]
- On March 3, 2010, while Heroes vs. Villains was still being aired, Jerri was purged from a US Airways flight in Charlotte, North Carolina after a disagreement with the flight crew. She posted an open letter to US Airways management on her Facebook page sharing the details of her experience.
- In July 14, 2012, Jerri got married at Alabama Hills, California. The wedding was officiated by her All-Stars tribemate Lex van den Berghe.[13]
- In her Survivor Hall of Fame induction article, Jerri revealed she is going through a divorce.[14]
- Jerri currently hosts for the Survivor After Show on thestream.tv.
- Jerri also designs handcrafted antique jewelry made from flatware from the 1900s.[15]
- Jerri was inducted to the Survivor Hall of Fame in 2015.[16]

- Jerri's luxury item in The Australian Outback was a Bongo.
- Jerri in The Australian Outback broke Jenna Lewis' record of having the most votes against a castaway in a season with 12. This record was later broken by Rory Freeman, who had 14 against him in Vanuatu. The record is now currently held by Karishma Patel, who received 22 votes in Island of the Idols.
- Jerri was the first female contestant voted out more than once.
- In All-Stars, Jerri was the first person to be voted out who was eliminated before their first season's finale episode.
- Jerri is the only person to be a member of three separate tribes in the same season and not make the merge.
- Jerri in All-Stars is the only person to play 23 or more days in a season and be eliminated pre-jury, and the only person to play 22 or more days in a season and not make it to either the merge or jury stage.
- Jerri was nominated in Survivor: America's Tribal Council in the "Hottest Female" category, but lost to Amber Brkich. She was also nominated for "Best Villain", but lost to Jon Dalton.
- Every time Jerri participated in the Blind Leading the Blind challenge, she was the caller. She was one of two castaways to be the caller every time they participated, with Cirie Fields being the other one.
- Jerri has played all three of her seasons with Colby Donaldson.
- Jerri's 39th birthday was on Day 28 of Heroes vs. Villains.
- In the final episode of Life at Ponderosa of Heroes vs. Villains, Jerri was revealed to be a highly-capable fire dancer.[17]
- Jerri lost 14.2 lbs. during her time in Heroes vs. Villains.[18]
- In all three seasons in which she participated, Jerri received the most votes (or tied for the most votes) among her original tribe.
- Jerri is one of eight people to play in seasons with 16, 18, and 20 castaways. The others are Colby, Tina Wesson, Rob Mariano, Rupert Boneham, Coach Wade, Amber Mariano, and Ethan Zohn.
