Story

Day 4

On Edge of Extinction, Amber has hope that she can get back in the game and help Rob.

Amber
Waking up this morning was a little bit surreal. Realizing I'm not back at the other camp anymore. But, if there was no Edge of Extinction, I'd probably be super depressed. I did not come all the way out here and leave four kids behind to be out of the game this early on. But I'm not done. There's still a possibility for me to get back in. There's still a possibility for me to possibly help my husband who is still in the game, so I gotta keep my head there. The game is still going for me.

At Sele, Rob finds a Fire Token in his bag, which concerns him, as he believes Amber has been voted out. He tells Parvati that he got a Fire Token, and wonders ifSandra voted out Amber.

S40 rob t
Rob
I just got a fire token. I have a lot of thoughts going through my head, but the most obvious is they took my wife out of the game first. Just the though of Amber being on the Edge of Extinction, it kills me. It was really, really, really hard for us to leave the kids. I know that's that weighing on her, so if she was taken out first, that makes it even harder.
S40 rob t
Rob
I do have other friends over there. It could've been Sandra, we just spent the entire season of Island of the Idols together, but I don't know if I can trust Sandra and if she voted my wife out, this is war.

Ben, wanting to avoid relying on Hidden Immunity Idols like he did in his season, decides to improve his social game and relationships by helping Denise look for an idol. Denise finds the idol, but both learn that there are two halves and one half must me given to another player by sundown in order for the idol to have power. Denise tells Adam about he idol since they have been close with him from day 1. She also tells him that Ben knows about the idol, which concerns him as he sees Ben as a wild card. She first thinks about giving one of the halves to Parvati, but Adam, knowing that's a bad idea because of how dangerous Parvati is, convinces Denise to give him the idol.

Ben
The last time I played, it was all about winning immunity and finding idols, but this time, I want to work on my relationships cause going through life along sucks. Going through Survivor alone sucks even worse, right?
S40 ben t
Ben
To win this game a second time, I need to work on my social game and teaching people how to find idols is a good way to do that.
S40 denise t
Denise
Holy crab cakes, I just found an idol. I've never been so giddy and without Ben, I would not have found this idol.
S40 denise t
Denise
We opened it up, and it's two. So now I have to figure out who to give the other half to. It has no power without giving the other half away. I thought Ben might try and convince me to give it to him, but he didn't and that makes me feel like he's somebody I can trust.
S40 denise t
Denise
For minute one, I've been with Adam. He is incredibly smart, like he knows this game. So maybe we can find some allies to pull in with us.
S40 adam t
Adam
The good news is, Denise has found the hidden immunity idol. The bad news is, Ben knows. That sucks because Ben is a wild card.
S40 adam t
Adam
What do you mean you want to give it to Parv? One of the best players that has ever played this game. Are you serious?
S40 adam t
Adam
Luckily, I'm able to convince Denise that it makes way more sense to give me the other half of the idol. I mean this is huge for me, but the idea of playing this game with Ben makes me a little nervous.

On Dakal, Kim, still feeling like she is on the bottom, searches for an idol and finds it, but learns that the format is the same as Denise's idol. However, when Tony and Nick approach her, she hides the idol, as she does not trust them. Kim, feeling like she can trust Sophie gives half of the idol to her. Sophie however believes Kim made a mistake telling her, as she knows how big of a threat Kim is.

Day 5

On Edge of Extinction, Amber and Natalie read a note at the poll, and Natalie immediately realizes it is a clue to something but acts like she does not understand it. Natalie and Amber follow the clue. Natalie eventually finds an Advantage that allows a player to leave Tribal Council before the votes are cast and return to camp, which she can sell to any player in the game for one Fire Token

At Sele, Jeremy learns that Natalie sent him the advantage. Feeling like he is on the bottom, he purchases it.

At Dakal, Tony, wanting to occupying his mind so he doesn't run out to look for an idol, builds a ladder in order to grab papayas from the tree. While the rest of the tribe try to convince Tony not to do this, he climbs up the ladder and gets a papaya. Sarah says she wants to work with Tony, but at the same time to keep her distance from him so they are not seen as a pair. When Tony and Sarah are walking on the beach together, they agree to work together.

Day 6

When the castaways arrive for the Immunity Challenge , Rob is angry to learn that Amber has been voted out. Host Jeff Probst asks Rob if Amber was voted out for personal reasons or to split her up from him, to which Rob replies that it's a game.

The tribes compete in a combined Reward /Immunity challenge. Dakal takes the lead when Sele takes time to get their cart working. Sophie and Sandra however, briefly struggle on the puzzle, allowing Sele to catch up, but Rob then really struggles with the puzzle, allowing Sandra and Sophie to recover and win the challenge.

At Sele, Rob thinks about targeting Jeremy for being on the bottom, or Ben for being a wildcard. Rob, Parvati and Ethan discuss which of Jeremy or Ethan to vote out. When Danni sees the three of them talking, she feels like she has been left out and is the target. When voicing her concern to Ethan and Ben, she ends up revealing the old school alliance Rob put together, making Ethan lose trust in her. Ethan and Danni then attempt deny the alliance, but Ben does not believe them and realizes that he has to get out the old schoolers.

Ben talks to Ethan, Jeremy and Adam about taking out Danni to show that there is no old school vs new school. Danni tells Rob that she's on the outs and Parvati hasn't been talking to her. She tells Rob to get Parvati out. Rob lies to her about being on board. Being loyal to Parvati, he tells Ethan and Adam about what Danni is doing and that he would like Danni out, making Adam satisfied, as the old schoolers are turning on each other. While Adam wants Parvati out, he is hesitant due to her being tight with Rob, who she calls the godfather. Ethan notifies Parvati about Danni targeting her. Rob, Parvati and Ethan are unsure whether to vote out Ben or Danni.

Jeremy and Michele talk about flipping the vote and controlling the game. Jeremy knows Rob is controlling the tribe and wants to pull the trigger on the blindsides. Jeremy and Michele talk to Adam about taking out Parvati, but Adam is not sure.

At tribal council, Ben calls out Danni’s error and then accuses Parvati, Rob and Ethan of being far too paranoid. Ben's actions cause Rob, Jeremy and Parvati to start whispering. Rob then asks everyone to empty their bags so they can see who has the idol, which they do, but Denise hides her idol.  When the votes are revealed Danni, is the third boot in a 8-1 vote. After leaving tribal council, she gives her Fire Token to Denise and goes to Edge of extinction, where she meets Amber and Natalie.

Challenges

Reward/Immunity Challenge: Draggin' the Dragon
Tribes must push a cart through an obstacle course. Throughout the course, there are three towers from which tribes must retrieve a key to unlock a chest. Once they have collected all three chests, they must then take the cart apart, slide it through a barricade, put it back together, and make their way to the end. Two tribe members would then use the pieces inside the chest to assemble a giant dragon puzzle. The first tribe to solve their puzzle wins.
Reward: A spice kit
Winner: Dakal
