For the opening challenge for rice and for the power to choose their tribemates, Irya was partnered with Céga Coulibaly, Hakim Djellali, and Jessica Joullié. The team of Nathalie Ensargueix, Frédéric Favier, Christopher Lavaud, and Carole Rapin won the challenge and they did not select Irya to be a part of the Tayak tribe. Therefore, Irya became a member of the Mingao tribe. Heading to the Mingao tribe's beach, Irya hesitated jumping with the rest of her tribe off of the helicopter into the water. When she finally did after throwing her bag in first, she struggled to swim, which prompted Jean-Bernard Hauton-Arnaud to carry her to the shore. After arriving at the beach, Irya realized that she had lost her bag in the water, which prompted Jean-Bernard to go looking for it over the next few days. Irya also got off on the wrong foot with Valérie Tartacède-Bollaert because the latter asked the former questions about how to prepare unfamiliar plants and fruits, which made the former believe that the latter was making assumptions based on the former's race. Irya bonded well with Céga and Irya formed a small alliance with him and Hakim. However, Irya's complaining did not sit well with most of her tribemates. The Tayak tribe initially won the first Reward Challenge, in which the reward was fire, but the victory and the reward were transferred to the Mingao tribe later that day as it was discovered that Frédéric and Christopher had broken the rules at one point in the challenge. During the first Immunity Challenge, which was the Hot Pursuit challenge, Valérie dropped out within a minute of the challenge, followed soon after by Irya. The Mingao tribe lost the challenge and both Irya and Valérie became targets for elimination. The afternoon before Tribal Council, Jean-Bernard found Irya's bag. At Tribal Council, Valérie received three votes from Irya's minority alliance, but Irya was eliminated instead by the majority alliance as they felt that Irya was the weaker of the two.
When Valérie quit the game on Day 4 due to being out of her element, Irya returned to the game on Day 5 in her place. Unfortunately for Irya, the second cycle was a near repeat of the first cycle. The Mingao tribe lost the second Immunity Challenge and Irya and Hakim voted against Jessica and Charlène Hoffness, respectively, but the majority alliance of four voted out Irya again.
