Challenge: Odyssey 6
The castaways must navigate through a rope obstacle, jump and climb over platforms, and then collect a bag of numbers while crossing a balance beam. Reward: Steak and chocolate cake
Winner: Julie Rosenberg (shared with Chris Underwood and Lauren O'Connell)

Challenge: Giant Tick

I'm Rick Devens. It's been a pleasure bringing you the news. But this is all for us. I hope to see you in the real world real soon.

Behind the Scenes[]

Other[]

  • With Chris, who was voted out prior to the merge, returning to the game, Vata is now the largest merged tribe, with 14 members.
  • This episode marks the first time in Survivor history that a player is crowned Sole Survivor after being voted out of the game.
  • The final five on Day 37 marked the only instance in the game where there were more remaining original Manu members than original Kama members.
  • Due to strong winds, the Day 38 fire-making challenge was held in the voting booth.[3]
  • The name for the second reentry duel, Don't Call It a Comeback, references the opening line ("Don't call it a comeback/I've been here for years") of the LL Cool J song, Mama Said Knock You Out.
  • The name for the Final Immunity Challenge, Let There Be Rock, references the AC/DC song of the same name.
  • The episode's title was said by Rick Devens in a confessional.
