Hein Vosloo is a contestant from Survivor South Africa: Malaysia.
Hein entered the game with immense knowledge on outdoor survival. His skills in fishing, foraging and firemaking made him valued by his tribe, even if he rubbed some members the wrong way on occasion. Despite being in the minority of both iterations of Bajau, Hein was protected due to his role in maintaining the tribe's resources. His luck ran out at the merge; with the original iterations of Bajau and Iban entering with equal numbers, Hein was targeted by the four former Iban members. In a tiebreaker challenge unique to Survivor South Africa, Hein and Lorette Mostert had to put their hand on a skull, with whoever placing their hand closest to the thirty second mark remaining in the game. Lorette won the challenge, and Hein was eliminated as the last pre-juror.

Hein is a former military man and adventurer, and has done all the things other people only read about in books or see on TV. He has been in the African bush without resources countless times, and as a result, he knows astounding survival techniques, like how to make fire in seven different ways. Despite his gypsy tendencies, he's been married to his wife for more than 30 years. They are currently building a cultural centre in a rural area, where he is also writing a book about astronomy.
Why would he survive in Malaysia? His incredible bush knowledge is an asset to any tribe. He is also good with people and is a strategic player. And he is as strong as an ox!
