Hayden started off well despite potentially having a target from his Big Brother days, being included in a male alliance that would pick off the women. After that though, Brad Culpepper's decision to turn on John Cody opened up the game. Hayden remained off the chopping block, but he was forced to make some tough decisions and stronger loyalties. When Caleb Bankston openly turned on Brad under the suspicion that Brad was targeting him, Hayden considered voting for Brad in the revote. Although he stuck with Ciera Eastin, Vytas Baskauskas flipped, reducing Tadhana to 3 men and 2 women. From that point, they focused on starting over and reunifying themselves to start winning challenges. After their first immunity win, however, a tribe switch would occur. The new Tadhana tribe of Hayden, Caleb, Ciera, Tyson Apostol, Aras Baskauskas, and Gervase Peterson won the remaining challenges and made the merge.
The post-swap ties Hayden made with Tyson and Gervase resulted in him working with them for the first few votes of the merge. Despite his connection to Ciera, Hayden was worried about her and Laura Morett going further together and pushed for Laura to be voted out. After that vote, Hayden hoped to recruit Caleb, Ciera, and Katie Collins to form a majority over the three remaining returning players Gervase, Tyson, and Monica Culpepper. However, Ciera did not follow through with this plan and Caleb would be voted out instead. With his back against the wall, Hayden tried once more to get Ciera to flip otherwise Tyson, Gervase, and Monica would become the final three. This time he was successful. Since Hayden received three votes in the initial tie and two in the revote, he would be immune from the rock draw tiebreaker. Unfortunately for him, Katie drew the white rock and was sent to Redemption Island. Hayden's game effectively ended when Ciera won the Day 35Immunity Challenge, where he would be voted out and lose the next duel to finish in 7th place. Hayden voted for eventual Sole Survivor Tyson at Final Tribal Council.
^1 In "One Armed Dude and Three Moms", the vote ended with a 3-3 tie between Brad and Ciera, forcing a revote. Hayden did not change his vote on the revote. ^2 In "Rustle Feathers", the vote ended with a 3-3 tie between Hayden and Monica, forcing a revote. Nobody changed their vote on the revote, forcing a rock drawing tiebreaker. Hayden was immune from the tiebreaker.
In 2014, Hayden and Kat ended their relationship.
On July 4, 2014, an app called Devvie was released for creating and sharing mobile videos in which Hayden was co-creator.
