As individuals or as tribes, the contestants will compete to catch as many fish as they can within a set time limit. The individual or tribe that catches the most fish by weight wins.
History[]
The challenge appeared as the fourth Immunity Challenge of The Amazon, where the tribes fished in the piranha-infested Amazonian river. After one hour, Jaburu and Tambaqui convened to have their buckets of fish weighed, and it was Tambaqui that won the challenge. As a reward, they were allowed to take the fish that they had caught back to camp.
The challenge appeared as an individual Immunity Challenge in Survivor South Africa: Panama. While on a fishing boat in open water, the final five had 15 minutes to catch as many fish as they could, using the provided bait. Gareth Tjasink blazed through the challenge, winning his third consecutive individual Immunity Challenge with more than double the fish as his next-best competitor.
In Serdtse Afriki, the challenge appeared as the third individual Immunity Challenge, where the castaways used fishing rods to catch as many fish as possible in the river. The two castaways with the heaviest bucket of fish went to the final round the following day, where one of them, who caught more fish in the Indian Ocean, would win. Dmitry Makarov beat Samir Makhmudov to claim individual immunity. Additionally, the castaways were permitted to bring the fish they'd caught back to their camp.
Both English-language seasons to use this challenge had blue, red, and yellow tribes. After the challenge, the yellow tribe was sent to Tribal Council.
