Template:StarRatings Flames and Endurance is the season finale of Survivor: Pearl Islands.
Story
Day 37
After losing his closest ally Burton, Jon enquired about the women's end game plans to Lil and Darrah. This resulted in Darrah's inability to confirm or deny whether she would take Lil to the end. The tribe got treemail directing them immediately to Tribal Council and to bring immunity with them. The Immunity Challenge was held at Tribal Council, and the jury competed as a unit along with the Final Four. The jury won immunity, leaving everyone vulnerable for this vote. Ultimately, Jon and Sandra were more threatened by Darrah's challenge strength than Lil's good reputation with the jury and voted her out 3-1.
Day 38
The final three participated in the Rites of Passage, allowing them to remember some of their closest allies, such as Skinny Ryan for Lil, Trish and Burton for Jon, and Christa and Rupert for Sandra. Lil performed well in this endurance based challenge, and once again Sandra bowed out early. Struggling, Jon desperately tried to strike several deals with Lil but she rejected every one. Lil finally won immunity but now was presented with yet another tough vote. Sandra felt nervous that she would go home, while Jon felt it would make more sense for Lil to take him to the end due to his reputation with the jury. Lil voted out Jon, making him the final member of the jury and meaning Lil and Sandra made it to the end.
Day 39
Sandra thanked Lil for taking her to the end, with Lil explaining that she felt Sandra deserved it more than Jon. The two felt proud of themselves for accomplishing so much in the game despite not being the strongest players.
Challenges
Challenge: Tribal Draft

Final Words
“ | Pretty proud of myself. I, uh, never gave up, and I didn't play fair, and didn't plan on it. Happy that my grandma's at home and doing just fine. Can't wait to see her. In a game in which the old term, "to be the man, you gotta beat the man" comes into play, uh, I was the last man, so...Peace out from Jonny Fairplay. | ” |

Voting Confessionals
“ | (voting for Sandra) Sandra, I am so happy for you. You deserve it. From the first day, when we were blood brother and sister, I was just thrilled to have somebody on my side. I'm glad l can be there for you now. I hope you win. | ” |
“ | (voting for Lillian) Sandra, l couldn't understand if your strategy in the game began during the very first day, or if it was by luck that you got into the right alliance, and you decided to be up front, so, with that being said, l had to look at who played the game, regardless of Tribal Council, to the best of their ability. Lil, l think that you did a phenomenal job. You came in the Outcasts, and you came back in the game and l think that you started to play it, by using your mind. So, with that being said, this vote goes to you, Lil. | ” |

Trivia
- This episode marks the first and only time where the jury participated in an Immunity Challenge.
- It is also the only time that no one has had immunity at a post-merge Tribal Council.
- After Sandra Diaz-Twine was revealed to be Sole Survivor, Jeff Probst mistakenly said Lillian Morris won while going into commercial break.
