For the tribe from La Isla 2013, see Famosos (2013).

Famosos (informally known as Estrella) is a tribe from La Isla 2012: El Reality.

Constantly outclassed by their rival tribes, the tribe never managed to win an Immunity Challenge. And even though they managed to scrape by for one week, this resulted in three straight cycles of them going to Trials, leaving them with only three members by the time the Tribe dissolved.

Tribe History[]

Due to a random draw at the beginning of the game, the six members were separated from the rest of the celebrities that entered the game, and El Travieso Arce, Julia Orayen, Mariana Torres, Juanito Acosta, Rafa Mercadante, and Yanilen Díaz would be living in Medium Beach for the first week. They'd arrive to it via both horseback and motor-powered boats, and would be able to keep very few of the belongings that they'd brought.

The tribe managed to make it by nightfall, and El Travieso immediately voiced his concerns, saying he wouldn't last much time if their Tribe didn't make it to High Beach eventually. Once they woke up for Day 2, the women complained because Juanito couldn't stop snoring, which kept them awake at night. Right before they left for the Immunity Challenge, Julia had very severe cramps, while Rafa kept insisting her that she was going to be fine.

In the first Immunity Challenge, the tribe lagged a lot, mostly due to Juanito's poor ability to swim, and the rest of the members having to help him constantly. They lost, and had to face the Celebridades Tribe in the Final Challenge. They'd started off poorly once again, but were able to bounce back and beat the Celebridades by seconds, avoiding the Trial for the week.

At the Day 5 Territorial Challenge, the tribe was competing with the rival Desconocidos Tribe, while the Celebridades were ahead. The results turned out to be the same as last week, with the Famosos making Medium Beach their home again. This would unknowingly be the last win the Tribe would ever have, as they lost both the Immunity and Final Challenges, forcing them to go to their first trial.

Furthermore, Juanito had suffered a heart attack while competing in the Final Challenge, and while he got the support from all of his tribe members, meant that the longer he stayed in the game, the more he could be potentially hurt. And, even with the health risk that it posed to keep him in the game, Rafa still opted to keep him instead of Julia, saying that he admired his perseverance over the perceived "bad attitude" that Julia had. Ultimately, Rafa would join the others in voting Juanito out. The Desconocidos (the judges for the Trial) saved Julia, and sealed Juanito's fate.

In the Week 3 Territorial Challenge, they once again lost, and had to visit Low Beach for the first time. In this challenge, the Famosos and the Celebridades were extremely close, so close in face that, when the tape had been reviewed and they'd determined that the Famosos had lost, Rafa had a breakdown, hitting himself and gashing open his head, requiring stitches. This rubbed everyone, including his tribe, the wrong way, but it was mostly put under the rug, in part thanks to Rafa being the de facto leader of the Tribe.

After they'd lost the Immunity and Final Challenges yet again, Rafa would argue that it'd be best to keep two men and two women on the tribe. He suggested Julia to be voted out, and everyone had agreed, with it being a unanimous vote yet again. But, the Desconocidos once again saved Julia, and this would mean the voting would restart. In this new vote, Rafa and Mariana would tie with two votes each (El Travieso received the fifth vote, since Yanilen didn't wanna decide between them). This meant that Julia, due to being saved by the Judges, had the sole decision to vote either Mariana or Rafa out. She voted Rafa out due to his outburst at the beginning of the cycle, claiming it was an attack on the Tribe.

The story seemed to be repeating itself for the tribe, as they didn't win a single challenge. With their third Trial in a row being imminent, the Tribe decided that it was best left to the Judges (this week the Celebridades were the Judges) to decide who would be saved. So they all put one vote on each other, and when the Judges' decision was revealed, Julia was saved for the third week in a row. This also meant that she'd be the one breaking the tie, and she chose to eliminate El Travieso. The main reason was that he requested to be voted out, as he couldn't bear one more day away from his family. Julia granted his wish, and now the tribe was left with all three women.

In the middle of Day 17, each tribe received a message to send one member to represent them in the upcoming Challenge. The girls decided that Yanilen should be the one to go, and she left the Beach. She competed against Lourdes Figueroa from the Desconocidos Tribe and Ricardo Casares from the Celebridades Tribe. They were informed that, if they lost the Challenge, it'd mean that their Tribe would cease to exist. Even though all three castaways lasted until the final round, Yanilen unfortunately lost, meaning that the Famosos Tribe would be no more.

The news was given to Julia and Mariana the day after, and the three ladies would be split into the Luna and Sol Tribes. Since Lourdes had won the previous challenge, and the Luna Tribe had six members, she'd pick one of the ladies, while the other two would go to the Sol Tribe. Lourdes, thanks to them bonding overnight after the challenge, picked Yanilen, thus meaning that Julia and Mariana would be part of Sol, ending the existence of the green tribe.

^2 Julia had received the majority of the votes, but due to the Judges saving her, the first round of voting was nullified, and all castaways voted once again. That second round of voting resulted in a tie, and, per La Isla rules, Julia had the final say as to who to vote out.
^3 Each castaway received one vote, but due to the Judges saving Julia, the vote against her was nullified, and per La Isla rules, Julia had to break the three way tie.

^1 The castaway who was supposed to be voted out was saved by the judges, and since they'd gotten the majority of the votes, that entire voting round was nullified, and a new one commenced.
^2 The vote resulted in a tie. Per La Isla rules, the castaway saved by the judges had to decide which of the castaways would be voted out.
^3 The castaway saved by the Judges was originally part of a 4-way tie, but due to the Judges' decision, the votes against them were nullified. Since it was still a tie, per La Isla rules, that castaway would break the tie.
