Feels Like a Rollercoaster is the season premiere of Survivor 42.

Challenge: Marooning
Tribes would race into the jungle for oars. While getting the oars, three players were given a chance to get an advantage. Once back with the oars, they would row out and around a buoy, untie a bag of bamboo pieces and come back to shore. They would then tie the pieces of bamboo together to create a pole long enough to retrieve a flint on a ring. The first tribe to finish wins reward.
Reward: Pot, machete, and flint
Additional Stipulation: The two losing tribes will have to earn their supplies in a penalty challenge waiting for them at camp.
Winner: Ika

Challenge: Forty Two
The tribes swim to the boat where they must gather three chests floating in the water. Once they have collected all three chests, they must then drag their boat and slide it under the nets until they reach the end of the track. Three tribe members would then use the pieces inside the chest to assemble a giant dragon puzzle. The first two tribes to solve their puzzle win immunity.
Additional Stipulation: The losing tribe must forfeit their flint, though they can win it back if they win the next Immunity Challenge.

Behind the Scenes

• In an exit interview, Tori reveals that she was originally supposed to run the shorter first leg of the opening Reward Challenge, but switched out with Drea at the last minute.
• In Hai's exit interview, he shares that Lindsay hesitated on and had to be talked by Drea and himself into taking the Advantage Amulet.
• During Vati's first night, they did not have a shelter built and instead spent the night bonding by sharing stories.
• By Day 2, Maryanne and Omar had formed a "Canada Goose" alliance based on their commonality as Canadian citizens.
• In an unaired portion of the Immunity Challenge, after the boats have been dragged to the end, one tribe member must dig up a bag containing coconuts and find a key, attached to a buoy, to unlock the chests.

• Marooning is the only pre-merge challenge from which no contestant is sitting out. This would be the last challenge until the Immunity Challenge in "Game of Chicken" in which nobody is sitting out.
