Expedition Robinson 2001 (Switzerland) is the unaired third season of Expedition Robinson (Switzerland).

While the season was never released, it was revealed in articles that Carole Haari defeated Thomas Gerster to become the Sole Survivor.

Production

Expedition Robinson was filmed in Johor, Malaysia, for the third consecutive time. However, the Tribal Council this season was different. Additionally, the prize for the winner was increased to CHF 150,000, roughly equivalent to US$90,000 at the time. Filming began in October 2001 and ended in November.

Cancellation

A mere three days before filming concluded, the production team received news that TV3, the private channel that aired the series, was getting discontinued due to financial reasons, meaning that Expedition Robinson had been canceled.

Despite this, the season did continue as intended, and the winner still received the prize money. However, the contestants weren't informed about the show's cancellation. Additionally, 13 episodes were still made.

Despite the hopes that the show could get resold, the season was never broadcasted. Silvan Grütter, the host of Expedition Robinson, got a copy of all 13 episodes. Tamedia, one of the two owners of TV3, received the season's footage. In 2018, 20 Minuten, a Swiss free daily newspaper, announced that it owned the season and showed a trailer containing all 14 castaways.
