Elizabeth Lyon Beisel[2] is a contestant from Survivor: Island of the Idols.

Elizabeth found herself in a power position on the Lairo tribe after forming strong bonds with Aaron Meredith, Elaine Stott, and Missy Byrd. Her alliance took control of the game, calling the shots on the Lumuwaku tribe following the merge. However, after Aaron and Missy were eliminated on the same night by a surprise Double Elimination, Elizabeth was targeted by the majority for her physical abilities. After a Hidden Immunity Idol play resulted in a tie between her and Janet Carbin, Elizabeth was unanimously voted out in the subsequent revote.

Profile

Retrieved from CBS.com

Age: 26
Hometown: Saunderstown, Rhode Island
Current residence: Saunderstown, Rhode Island
Occupation: Olympic Medalist
Hobbies: Surfing, violin, and wakeboarding.
Pet peeves: I hate when people have conversations while scrolling on their phones. Be present and in the moment without your phone.
Three words to describe you: Gregarious, competitive, and loyal.
What accomplishment are you most proud of? Becoming the youngest member of the United States Olympic Team in 2008 at 15 years old.
Who or what is your inspiration in life? My best friend Allison. She and I have been to three Olympics together. After the 2012 Olympics where she won five medals, she went through a serious post-Olympic depression. She is now a mental health advocate for athletes and speaks around the country. She is a true hero.
What's one thing we wouldn't know from seeing a photo of you? I love classical music and have played the violin since I was 3 years old.
Which Survivor contestant are you most like? Kara. Her exuberant personality and positive attitude reminds me of myself.
What's your primary motivation for being on Survivor? To compete again. I retired from swimming a year ago and I miss challenging myself and bringing myself to the edge. Second reason... one million dollars.
Why do you think you'll "survive" Survivor? I'm physically, mentally, and socially strong. I can easily connect with people—my alliances will be strong and help carry me through the game. I can win individual Immunity due to my strength as an athlete. I'm a tough girl who will fight until the end.[3]

Survivor

Elizabeth was the first castaway to be sent to Island of the Idols following Lairo's first immunity challenge defeat. Upon arrival, she met former winners Sandra Diaz-Twine and Rob Mariano and was faced with a difficult challenge: defeat Rob at firemaking. Elizabeth was overwhelmed with the task at hand that she decided to go for it. After Rob made fire first, Elizabeth would return to camp having lost her vote but gaining some advice: if something is too good to be true, it probably is. Since Elizabeth was recruited into the women's alliance, her lost vote was no issue and she escaped Tribal Council without anyone knowing she didn't vote. The next few votes would not be quite as straightforward, but with the emergence of her sub alliance with Missy Byrd  and Aaron Meredith, Elizabeth became one of the key pieces to everyone's game on Lairo. Elizabeth was a key factor in both Vince Moua and Chelsea Walker's eliminations following afternoons where multiple players' names were brought up, though not actively driving the strategy like her ally Missy.

The swap kept Elizabeth with her closest allies and in a workable 4-4 situation on the new Vokai. When Elaine Stott returned from Island of the Idols, Elizabeth worked with her to assure Missy and Aaron wouldn't flip thanks to the vote steal advantage Elaine found at the following immunity challenge. Their plan worked, giving the Lairo Four on Vokai a 4-3 majority following Jason Linden's blindside. Going into the merge, Elizabeth and Missy did not solely rely on the bonds they made in the swap to overcome the original Lairo's numbers disadvantage. After learning from Lauren Beckthat Kellee Kim intended to target Missy despite the two of them bonding over disgust toward Dan Spilo's inappropriate behavior, the duo played up the accusations so that Kellee's alliance would certainly shift their target to Dan. This allowed Kellee to let her guard down and for the seven members of post swap Vokai to blindside her at the first merged Tribal Council.

When Janet Carbin approached them for answers following Tribal Council, Elizabeth continued to lie to Janet while reassuring Dan that she was with them. This manipulative behavior strengthened the majority alliance's grip on the game until a surprise twist separated the final 11 into two separate groups. Each group would go to their own Tribal Council following an immunity challenge. Elizabeth appeared to have benefited from a favorable draw as Elaine won immunity and Tommy was the only Vokai member in her group of 5, separated from his strongest allies. Missy's history of aggressive gameplay, and Elizabeth's close association with her, finally caught up to them both as Elaine and Karishma Patel voted with Tommy to blindside Missy. Elizabeth was left without both of her allies (as Aaron was voted out at the other Tribal Council) and at the mercy of old Vokai and the tribe's overall apathy toward Karishma. Elizabeth was one of only three players to compete in the Day 30 Immunity Challenge but could not outlast Noura Salman to win the challenge. Elizabeth was content to go with the majority to vote out Karishma, but Karishma tried to work with Elizabeth to take out Janet. Dan overheard their conversation, forcing it to end. Karishma's idol play negated 7 votes, forcing a 1-1 tie between Janet and Elizabeth and a revote. Elizabeth proved to be expendable as Dan's lone initial vote allowed Vokai to send her to the jury in the revote.
