Driving Wheel is a recurring Survivor challenge. It debuted in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers and reappeared in Survivor 48.

Rules

Castaways will drive a one-wheeled barrow carrying an urn through a series of obstacles. At the end of the obstacle course, they will use a key attached to the urn to unlock a set of word blocks, which they will use to solve a word puzzle. The first person to solve their puzzle wins.

History

The challenge appeared at the final seven of Survivor 48, where it was played for reward and individual immunity. After driving their barrow to the end, the castaways had to solve an arch-shaped word puzzle to spell "UNFORGETTABLE". While most of the tribe struggled to spell the word, Kamilla Karthigesu quickly identified the word but struggled to keep her arch stable. In a photo-finish, Joe Hunter narrowly beat out Kamilla to complete his arch and made it to back to his mat moments before her. Mere moments after declaring him the winner, Jeff Probst noticed that Joe had oriented one of his blocks incorrectly and thus gave the win to Kamilla.
