International Model, 39

One of the world's top male models, David has been a long-term Survivor fan but it was his friend and Season 2 player, Sarah Tilleke, who helped convince him to give it a go.

Going in with strategies in place, David is planning to play hard saying; "I want four strong players to line up with a goat each and then take them to the slaughter. BYO goat."

He's even willing to get up to some tricks saying; "I might try to make a fake Idol, pretend I'm not a fan of the show if I think it will get me further."

Starting his career in modelling following a $50 bet back in 2002, David saw an ad for a modelling TV series and decided to apply and ended up winning.

Since then he's appeared in magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair, photographed by the world's most famous photographers and has also been the face of Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Mont Blanc.

Living in New York, David has three kids and a fourth in the form of his motorbike. A mad fan who once rode across the whole USA, he loves adventure and also studies jiu jitsu and muay Thai boxing.[1]

39, Supermodel — Season 4

The devious but much-loved Golden God returns for what he refers to as, "Revenge. Pure and simple." Perth bred and New York based Supermodel, David is back on the beach and ready to take his game play to a new level even without his best mate Luke by his side. "I would love to see Luke on that first day, but he's already done it twice. I'm going to need a new spy network to keep an eye out for me this time around," he said.

He admits he was not happy walking out of Tribal Council last season with an Idol in his pocket so is going to be more wary this time around, especially when playing with All Stars. But in classic David style, he can't help but joke about how he played last time saying; "I was the main hero of the season. I played honestly and with valour."

Although not looking forward to eating more rice and living with no shelter, he is looking forward to what winning the game might mean to his family. "Winning would be amazing, it would help my family enormously. I'd put it toward my kid's educations and hopefully a holiday so I can get back to Australia more often." David is the father of three and lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife Pearl and daughter Rei.[2]

The Golden God and winner of Australian Survivor All Stars, David Genat is back for his third go at the game.

Affectionally known as DG, he returns to the game as the only winner on his tribe and knows the title will put a target on his back but is ready for the attack.

DG says, "I am in the driver's seat from this game on day one. There's nowhere for me to hide, they're all looking at the bus driver. The question is, can I dodge some of those shots when I'm not looking at them? How good am I? Am I like Neo in The Matrix?"

Hoping to be reunited with some of his favourite alliance friends, DG says, "I would love to see Luke out here, get the Dream Team back together. There was a magic that happened when we played together. I'd love to see if we can replicate that or try to take each other out. I consider him to be the best Australian Survivor player who hasn't won."

After recently appearing on and winning Deal Or No Deal Island, he's also hoping to join up with his alliance member on that show, US superstar player Parvat.

He says, "Parvati and I worked really well together on DONDI so I'd love to see her. I would love to see one of the Mount Rushmore – Parvati, Boston, Rob, Sandra or Tony out here. They're put up on this pedestal and you know, I got my spray can, I'm ready to do some graffiti on their faces. Maybe chip some of the noses off those statues."

Champions v Contenders[]

Beginning the season on the Champions tribe, David was excluded from the Sporty Seven alliance, but forged a strong duo with Luke Toki. Together along with remaining outsiders Pia Miranda and Janine Allis, they identified Abbey Holmes and Ross Clarke-Jones as the players they needed to flip to their side. While Luke appealed to Ross's mischievous, fun-loving nature, David used his modeling background to flirt and bond with Abbey. Along with Abbey's perception that Susie Maroney performed worse in challenges than Janine, both Abbey and Ross flipped to David's side and a new majority alliance to be established, causing the remnants of the Sport Seven to be picked off.

Upon learning that his allies Luke and Janine had found Hidden Immunity Idols, David wanted one for his own, even going as far as to ask Janine for her idol note to make a fake Champions idol which he planned to swap with Shaun Hampson in exchange for a real one. As David grew increasingly power hungry, several of his own alliance members considered targeting him. However, no plans came to fruition before the Tribe Switch on Day 15.

David and Luke remained on the Champions following the swap, but were in a 7-2 minority against the original Contenders. David quickly approached Sam Schoers about an alliance, but when she declined, he decided to target her. An opportunity arose when Andy Meldrum revealed to the Contenders majority that Shaun had an idol, which upset Daisy Richardson, Shaun's closest ally. As a result, Daisy and several other Cotenders joined forces with David to blindside Sam, who was aligned with Andy. When the Champions had an opportunity to steal a player from the Contenders on Day 20, the tribe near unanimously voted for Shaun. Shaun's presence in the Champions tribe shifted Daisy's loyalty back to him, leaving David and Luke on the outs once more. Furthermore, the original Champions women alerted Shaun that the idol David gave him was fake. Shaun and David targeted each other at the next Tribal Council, with both David and Luke playing their idols, and thanks to Shaun's contingency plan, Hannah Pentreath went home instead on the revote.

At the Day 23 Reward Challenge, David let the former Champions on the Contenders know that he would be voted out next and that he used up his idol, so they threw the next challenge to keep him safe. Following that successful challenge throw, the Champions won the remainder of the challenges prior to the merge. During that time, David found another idol while on reward, and there were a number of disingenuous attempts between David and Shaun to mend fences as they both remained firmly set on targeting each other at the next opportunity.

On Day 29, the Contenders and Champions merged into Soli Bula with 6 players each. Shaun won immunity, so David focused on targeting Andy. This proved to be successful as neither tribe trusted Andy due to his various antics earlier in the game. This crucially gave David the numbers to finally take out Shaun the following vote. Unbeknownst to David and Luke, however, Pia, Abbey, and Janine had plotted to blindside David for weeks due to how much power he had in the game, and now with a firm Champions majority, they felt the timing was right as David was not expecting to be targeted with Shaun out of the game. Luke won immunity, so David tried to rally the numbers to split the votes between Daisy and Harry Hills, but instead the rest of the tribe (aside from Luke) blindsided David with an idol in his pocket by an 8-2 vote on Day 34, making him the second juror.

At Final Tribal Council, David initially called out both Pia and Baden for being "goats", but Pia managed to convince David that she played an impressive game. Pia also explained her role in David's blindside, which helped David realize that Pia was worthy of his jury vote.

All Stars[]

David was labeled the leader of the majority Vakama alliance which consisted of AK Knight, Brooke Jowett, Locky Gilbert, Phoebe Timmins, Daisy Richardson, and Flick Egginton. However, David was not content with that. After a successful first vote where he blindsided former winner Jericho Malabonga, David and Mat made an agreement to protect each other and pick off their allies. David gave Mat an opportunity to vote out Daisy, as David aimed to vote out every player who voted him out in the previous season. Additionally, upon discovering Brooke found a Hidden Immunity Idol, David wanted to flush her idol in the same move as Daisy's blindside on Day 7. The plan worked as David feigned surprise, seemingly allowing him to escape blame.

David lost all of his allies barring Phoebe after the Tribe Switch, although David and Phoebe were not on the same page as to who to target. David felt Nick Iadanza was a strategic threat while Phoebe wanted to work with Nick and instead wished to target Moana Hope. This led to a 4-3-2 vote on Day 18, and although Phoebe was voted out, she stayed in the game by winning a firemaking challenge. However, David would then distrust Phoebe, and instead opted to work with Moana and her allies as they shared the same enemies. Still believe she was aligned with David, Phoebe shared her idol clue with him. David immediately knew which termite mound the clue referred to and found a second idol along with the one he initially found on Mokuta. With two idols and protection from the majority alliance, David started to feel in control. He exercised that control by voting out Phoebe and Nick before the merge.

The Mokuta seven, consisting of David, Sharn Coombes, Lee Carseldine, Moana, Zach Kozyrski, Jacqui Patterson, and Tarzan HerlaarPagonged the remaining Vakama members throughout the post-merge. David insisted on voting out Harry on Day 32 so that should he make it to the end, he would hold the record for most consecutive days played in Australian Survivor. Though David lost Lee (who had to leave due to a family emergency) and Zach after the Exile Beach twist, David managed to regain control on Day 40. By playing one of his idols on Tarzan, it put numerical pressure on Shonee Fairfax, Brooke, and AK to concede and flip on Jacqui. With help from Sharn's desperation to avoid a rock draw, that is what happened. David came the closest to being voted out on Day 42, but Sharn decided to stick with him, revealing in her voting confessional that she planned to go to the end with him.

David's second idol and immunity wins ensured David would get to the end. He sacrificed Tarzan on Day 46 because he needed Sharn and Moana's better individual challenge ability to help defeat Brooke. David managed to defeat Brooke himself the next day and subsequently voted the challenge beast out. With the physical and virtual support of his wife and kids on Day 49, David won the Final Immunity Challenge. Thinking Moana might pose a bigger challenge at Final Tribal Council, David took Sharn to the end.

The jury commended David's gameplay and virtual vise grip on the game, and David was rewarded with 8 jury votes and the title of Sole Survivor.

Australia v The World[]

David returned to this global showdown as one of five winners on the cast, but the only winner on the Aussie tribe. Despite this target, David seemed to have a favorable tribe configuration reuniting with allies Luke Toki and Janine Allis, as well as his friend Sarah Tilleke from their modeling backgrounds. Another big target George Mladenov approached David and Luke about protecting each other, but David was not interested and saw George as his first target. In the first reward challenge, David spoke to Rob Bentele as the two physical threats wanted to keep each other informed of their tribe's dynamics. This public conversation only increased both of those targets, factoring into Rob's vote out following Aussie's victory in the initial immunity challenge.

A key figure of the Aussie tribe proved to be Kirby Bentley, the least connected and most recent castaway in this group. David recognized the value Kirby could bring to his game, but Kirby's desire to target the big players overshadowed any potential alliance. Tony Vlachos led the World to their first immunity victory on Day 4, forcing David's alliance to be tested at Tribal Council. The scramble reached a new intensity when George outed Kirby's plan to target David to David. Sarah was conflicted, caught between her alliances with Kirby and David, and the Tribal Council quickly became live with Janine and Shonee Bowtell's names also coming up within the whispers. George's intention to keep bigger threats in the game resulted in a 3-3-1 tie between David and George. However, as George could not vote in the revote, David's fate was sealed by Sarah, Kirby, and Shonee as the revote came 3-2 against David. David took the vote out in stride as he announced his retirement from playing Survivor to applause from his tribemates.
