Survivor Wiki

Corinne Lindsay Kaplan is a contestant from Survivor: Gabon and Survivor: Caramoan.

Highly acid-tongued, Corinne made a habit in Gabon of coining creative put-downs designed to humiliate people she disliked, most notably in her jury speech to Sugar Kiper. She was a part of the dominant Onion Alliance, but when outsider Susie Smith flipped to the rival Fang Alliance, Corinne and her remaining allies found themselves at the bottom. When the intended target, Bob Crowley, won immunity at the final seven, Corinne was voted out at the subsequent Tribal Council.

Though she kept her caustic personality relatively in check in Caramoan (reserving the worst of her insults for an easy target in Phillip Sheppard), Corinne's strategic gameplay proved lacking, as her intent to betray Phillip was inadequately concealed and resulted in her preemptive blindside one cycle short of the jury phase.

Corinne Kaplan (29)
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Occupation: Pharmaceutical Sales

Corinne Kaplan takes great pride in being able to manipulate the people around her. As a pharmaceutical sales rep, this smart and sexy, self-described bitch, is in it purely for the money. At work, Corinne must convince physicians to prescribe her products. Now, Corinne is looking to convince her fellow tribe mates that she's trustworthy, while ready to sell them out behind their backs.

This catty former sorority girl uses her wit and sex appeal to further her goals. Aside from working out in the gym almost every day, Corinne keeps fit by hiking and running. Corinne will tell it like it is and couldn't care less what people think of her for it. Her outgoing personality is a trait that seems to work well on the men in her life. Corinne basically has no filter and is often hilarious in her directness, saying what everyone else only thinks.

Corinne is single and currently resides in Los Angeles. Her birth date is January 17, 1979.[1]

Name (Age): Corinne Kaplan (33)
Tribe Designation: Bikal
Previous Season: Survivor: Gabon – 12th castaway voted out/4th Jury Member
Current Residence: Los Angeles
Occupation: Clinical Consultant
Personal Claim to Fame: Being me and never holding anything back.
Inspiration in Life: This implies I want to "be like" someone else - I don't. Though I do have role models, like my parents. My father taught me that life isn't fair, and you have to work hard for what you want. My mother taught me the alternative is you can marry the guy who does all that. Both lessons are equally important to me.
Hobbies: Shutting down small talk.
Pet Peeves: So called "actors" living in Hollywood, reality show losers and anyone who uses the "door open" button in an elevator.
3 Words to Describe You: Snarky, irreverent and opinionated.
If You Could Have 3 Things on The Island What Would They Be and Why? 1) Music – It is outrageous how slow time passes out there. 2) Hat – I aged an extra five years from squinting at the sun last time. 3) Journal – I want to remember every moment out there this time around.
Survivor Contestant You Are Most Like: Randy Bailey from Survivor: Gabon. Hands down, no one else even comes close.
Reason for Being on Survivor: I ran out of bar stories to tell from the first go-round.
Why You Think You'll "Survive" Survivor: I can handle both the physical and the mental aspects of the game like a champ, and I thoroughly enjoy watching everyone else who can't.

Why You Think You Will Be the Sole Survivor: I don't have any insecurities. It is my experience that everyone else who plays this game is riddled with them. I plan to break them down and eat them alive.[2]

Placed on the yellow Kota tribe, she entered in an alliance with Marcus Lehman, Charlie Herschel, and Jacquie Berg, a group that would be known as the Onion Alliance. Kota won the first two Immunity Challenges, allowing the alliance to bide their time. On Day 9, Corinne recruited Bob Crowley as the alliance's fifth member just to secure the majority.

On Day 9, Kota lost their first Immunity Challenge, and Paloma Soto-Castillo, the physically weakest member of the tribe, suggested to Corinne to vote off Ace Gordon, who was perceived as obnoxious and untrustworthy mostly because he campaigned to vote Paloma off to secretly protect his ally, Sugar Kiper. Despite Ace being a common enemy, Corinne and the rest of the Onions voted Paloma out to strengthen the tribe.

After the Day 10 tribe switch, Corinne remained on Kota with the rest of her allies minus Jacquie who was switched to Fang. With Jacquie on the other tribe and eventually voted out, Corinne gained a new ally in Randy Bailey, an ex-Fang who held a grudge on his former tribe. Kota continued to win challenges, winning six successive challenges. Despite being upset after Susie deliberately told Corinne she was gunning for her, the Onion Alliance regrouped, they voted out the former Fang member Dan Kay during the double Tribal Council on Day 21.

The following day, Corinne and the rest of Kota met with Fang in what they believed was a merge. Much to everyone's surprise, the tribes were merely mixed up again, with Corinne moving to the Fang tribe being confident that the "Kota Six", which comprised of the Onion Alliance, Randy, and Susie, had the majority in both tribes. At the feast, a second Hidden Immunity Idol was hidden within the vicinity. Despite being tempted to take it for herself like several of the remaining players, Corinne went with the group and threw the idol at sea. The third incarnation of the Fang tribe won the following Immunity Challenge, thus keeping Corinne safe, however, she would lose an ally in Marcus as Susie aligned with her former Fang tribemates.

The tribes were finally merged on Day 27, and with both Onion and Fang Alliances with four members, they competed for the support of Sugar, who had ties with both tribes. Despite her dislike of Sugar, Corinne attempted to appease her by promising her that they would vote Randy (a person Sugar was completely repugnant toward) out next if she sided with them. In a decisive 5-4 vote, Sugar sided with the Fangs and voted Charlie out.

In the minority, Corinne spent all of her money for an advantage at the next Immunity Challenge at the following Survivor Auction, which would later be inconsequential as she lost to Fang Alliance member, Ken Hoang. After a failed attempt to sway Matty Whitmore to join their alliance, Corinne's only hope was that Bob found the Hidden Immunity Idol on Exile Island, not knowing his was merely a deceivingly-looking counterfeit he made (Sugar had found the idol on Day 8). At Tribal Council, Randy was obviously targeted for his overall acerbic personality and locking heads with his original tribemates. At the end of the night, Randy played the fake idol, much to the rival alliance's pleasure, and was double-crossed, sending him home, leaving Corinne and Bob further on the outs.

Furious about Sugar's gloating at Tribal Council, Corinne finally let loose and bared her blunt side. At the following Loved Ones Challenge, the tribe was to be divided into two teams of three, with Corinne not being picked thus had no shot at winning reward, but fortunately, Bob who had won came back to camp with his wife and as a surprise, he whistled and everybody's loved ones (including Corinne's) show up to camp. Later that day, Corinne and Bob fabricated a lie about keeping the second idol Marcus threw at the fake merge feast, hoping it would prevent the Fang Alliance from voting her. After Bob won the Day 33 Immunity Challenge, Corinne was the only target, but she went to Ken and Crystal Cox to show them the idol in hopes of swaying them to their side. Ken and Crystal went with the plan by splitting the votes between Corinne and physical threat Matty. Ultimately though, Corinne's bluff about the idol was called, sending her home in a 4-3 vote.

At Final Tribal Council, Corinne asked Susie if she was willing to remove her vocal cords if she won the $1 million, which Susie couldn't. Corinne then asked Bob to show a nasty side of him and make her believe that he didn't like Sugar, but when he started saying something positive about Sugar, Corinne interrupted and said she didn't want to hear Bob being nice. When she spoke to Sugar, Corinne insulted her for socioeconomic status and her constant crying, which Sugar responded by flipping the bird towards her. In the end, Corinne voted for Bob to win, which he did in a 4-3-0 vote over Susie and Sugar.

Corinne returned as one of ten Favorites that comprised the Bikal tribe. Corinne was immediately recruited to Phillip Sheppard's second incarnation of the Stealth R Us alliance, along with Andrea Boehlke, John Cochran, Dawn Meehan, and Malcolm Freberg, receiving the code-name "The Dominatrix". The alliance enjoyed their majority as they voted out Francesca Hogi in a 6-4 vote at the first Tribal Council. Corinne and Malcolm also developed a close friendship within the Stealth R Us alliance, and they found the Hidden Immunity Idol together on Day 4. Despite being in a good position, Andrea did not completely trust her and considered blindsiding her at the next opportunity.

Shortly before the tribe's fifth Immunity Challenge, Brandon Hantz dumped Bikal's rice and beans in a fit of rage after a heated argument between himself and Phillip. At the challenge, Brandon took the time to lash out at Phillip for demeaning everyone with his Stealth R Us code-names, and even yelled at Corinne for trying to be nice to the Fans when the Favorites clearly didn't respect them, causing Corinne to sigh and shake her head not wanting to argue and make him even angrier. Corinne was relieved to see Brandon get voted off right then and there.

After Brandon's departure, Bikal gained Gota members Matt Bischoff, Michael Snow, and Julia Landauer after a tribe switch. Corinne was excited about gaining Michael due to her love for gay contestants. Corinne's budding friendship with Michael became a concern for Phillip, Dawn, and Cochran. Corinne, despite her annoyance with Phillip, stayed loyal to the alliance and voted out Matt and Julia at the next two Tribal Councils, keeping Michael in the game because of their friendship.

When the two tribes merged, Corinne quickly went back to Malcolm, who had told her he now had an alliance with Eddie Fox, Reynold Toepfer, and Erik Reichenbach, while Corinne had one with Michael, putting their numbers up to six. Corinne attempted to talk Dawn into joining the alliance for the majority, saying that after Sherri Biethman is voted off, she wanted to target Phillip, but Dawn relayed the information back to Phillip, who was angered at Corinne's betrayal. At Tribal Council, Corinne paid for her flipping as she was blindsided in a 7-5 vote.
