Survivor[]
Due to his athleticism, height, strength, and past as an NBA player, Cliff was placed on the "Brawn" Aparri tribe. After the tribe elected Sarah Lacina as its leader and Trish Hegarty was singled out as the weakest member on Day 1, Cliff found himself in a decent position and a friendship formed with Woo Hwang. However, his closeness to Woo and eventually Lindsey Ogle was viewed as a threat by Sarah, prompting her to start a plan to throw the Day 11 Immunity Challenge to target Cliff. Sarah recruited Trish and Tony Vlachos in her plan, and attempted to pull Woo in as well, though the latter was unsure due to his loyalty to Cliff. Fortunately for Cliff, his basketball skills and the Luzon tribe's ineffectiveness in the challenge resulted in him single-handedly winning Aparri immunity, unknowingly saving himself from his tribemates' plan.
After the tribe switch on Day 12, Cliff was switched to the new Solana tribe along with all of his original Aparri tribemates other than Sarah, giving them a majority over original "Beauty" members Jefra Bland and LJ McKanas. With the original Aparri contingent having the majority, they targeted LJ right away. However, LJ and Trish grew close due to their similar backgrounds, and when Solana lost the next Immunity Challenge, Trish wanted to side with Jefra and LJ in targeting Cliff, leaving Tony as the swing vote. Ultimately, Tony was willing to forge a new sub-alliance and voted out Cliff in a 4-3 blindside.
