Christopher "Chris" Hammons is a contestant from Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X.

Profile[]
Retrieved from CBS.com
Name: Chris Hammons
Age: 38
Current residence: Moore, OK
Occupation: Trial lawyer
Tribe designation: Takali (Gen-X)
Three words to describe you: Super competitive because I don't lose, tenacious because I never give up, and I'm a fighter.
Hobbies: Working out to relive stress, strategizing to be successful, and challenging myself to be the best.
Pet peeves: Smacking gum. I hate it. I would do away with all gum on earth if I could.
What does it mean to be a Gen-Xer? To me, it means that you work hard. It means you get up with a purpose and a goal each day. It means that you can do anything in America as long as you work hard and never give up.
Personal claim to fame: I came from nothing. I came from a trailer with no running water left behind by a drug-trafficking father at 15. I overcame tremendous odds. I put myself through college on a football scholarship. I put myself through law school. I did this on my own and have earned the respect of an entire community. For years, my hometown of Sulphur, Oklahoma, had a sign that said: "The Home of Chris Hammons." The sign is actually in my garage now.
Inspiration in life: Gerry Spence because he's the America's greatest trial lawyer that ever lived. He has fought for American rights longer than I've been alive. He gives me inspiration to continue that great fight so the accused, the oppressed, the injured, the "little guy" will have a voice in America. When we, trial lawyers, quit fighting, Americans will have no voice. He is a true patriot and the most loving man I have ever met. Without his program and path, I might have been lost the rest of my life.
If you could have three things on the island, what would they be and why? A medicine pouch given to me by an Indian Chief and blessed with love and caring, which would give me power in challenges; a journal and pencil to document my adventure but, more than that, write down all the details of each member so I could memorize their stories better; and a picture of my boys. I would use the pain of not seeing them as motivation. When I feel down, I will look at that picture and turn the sadness to rage for a challenge.
Survivor contestant you're most like: "Boston" Rob Mariano (Marquesas, All-Stars, Heroes vs. Villains, Redemption Island.) He gave one of the most dominant performances ever on Survivor.
Reason for being on Survivor: My primary motivation is to win. I love Survivor and have wanted to be on it for years. Life seems to get in the way of adventures. I love competition and I just see Survivor as the ultimate game and the ultimate competition.
Why do you think you'll "survive" Survivor? I have always been able to juggle people and their different personalities. I can tolerate almost all types of people and connect with them. I will make the big moves when it is time. I have a great memory and will be able to keep the stories of contestants in my head and use them as needed. I have just always fit in with the 'in' crowd and the 'out' crowd. I am a hybrid of some sort.[2]
Survivor[]
Being a Gen-X'er, Chris started his game on Takali. On Day 1, he aligned with Bret LaBelle; when David Wright attempted to align with them, Chris became uncomfortable. At camp, Chris became a part of the Takali Alliance led by Bret. When Takali lost the first Immunity Challenge of the season, Chris joined his alliance in successfully eliminating the weakest link Rachel Ako. When Takali lost immunity again on Day 10, Chris' alliance planned to voted out CeCe Taylor, but at Tribal Council, his allies Jessica Lewis, Sunday Burquest, and Lucy Huang worked with the minority alliance of David, CeCe, and Ken McNickle to blindside Chris' close friend and ally Paul Wachter. The next day, Lucy told Chris and Bret that betraying Paul was Jessica's idea, and Chris, Bret, Lucy, and Sunday targeted Jessica for being untrustworthy. Takali lost immunity again. Chris's alliance planned to turn on Jessica, but at Tribal Council, David played his Hidden Immunity Idol on Jessica so Lucy was blindsided. The next morning, Chris and the others searched for the rehidden idol, but David found it.
Later that day a Tribe Switch occurred. As a result of the switch, Chris along with David, and CeCe were switched to Vanua where they joined fellow Vanua members Zeke Smith and Michelle Schubert. On Vanua, Chris and Zeke bonded over their mutual home state of Oklahoma, and Chris's experience playing on the 2000 Oklahoma Sooners football team. Vanua lost immunity. At camp, Chris talked to David about flipping on CeCe and he agreed, and then they told Zeke and Michelle about the plan. Chris's plan worked as CeCe was blindsided.
Chris reached the merge. His alliance which now included David's alliance, and the Vanua outsider alliance held the majority over the Triforce alliance. Will Wahl won immunity. At camp, Chris and David suggests that target Triforce member Michelle because they believed she did not have an idol and no one would give an idol to her. Michelle was blindsided. Chris, Bret David, Ken, Sunday, and Taylor Stocker won the next Reward Challenge. Ken won the second Immunity Challenge. At Tribal Council, Chris's alliance voted out Triforce member Taylor.
The next day, Chris decided to spare the last remaining loyal Triforce member Jay Starrett and blindside Jessica, and he talked to Zeke about it. However, David rallied Ken and Jessica against Chris. David won immunity. At camp, Chris discussed with his alliance and Zeke to target Jessica, but make Jay believe he was the target so he would play the idol, while David's alliance talked to Zeke about blindsiding Chris. Zeke and Hannah Shapiro were caught in the middle. At Tribal Council, they sided with David's alliance so Chris was blindsided.
At the Final Tribal Council, Chris lauded Adam for his ability to convince Ken to vote out David, and he told the jury to vote for Adam to win. Chris voted for Adam to win which he did in a unanimous 10-0-0 vote.
