Johor[]
After the marooning, Cédric found the hidden advantage that Denis Brogniart had mentioned earlier. To everyone's knowledge, the advantage allowed for Cédric to become the captain of the Tinggi tribe, for him to decide who would be the captain of the rival Lankawaï tribe, and for both captains to select their tribemates. To Cédric's discretion, the advantage also contained a clue to a Hidden Immunity Necklace. The Tinggi tribe got off to a good start, winning the first three challenges. As for Cédric, he was respected as a leader and became close to Jeff Santiago, but he never found the Hidden Immunity Necklace he was looking for, which was found by Mélissa Bastin instead. Before the second Reward Challenge, both tribes had to select a female and a male of their opposition to be banished until further notice. Thanks to this twist, the Tinggi tribe lost Cédric and Jessica Potel for the time being, leaving them with eight active members. On Exile Island, the four banished contestants endured stricter conditions for the remainder of the cycle and, to make matters worse, Manon Allender and Jessica were stung by wasps upon arrival. Near the end of the cycle, the banished contestants received a message instructing them to prepare for a "fateful" challenge, which prompted them to fear that it would be an elimination challenge. At the beginning of the third cycle, Cédric and Jessica competed against Manon and Sébastien Ballesteros in said challenge. To their relief, no one was eliminated from this challenge as they had feared. However, Manon and Sébastien won this challenge and became captains of the new Tinggi and Lankawaï tribes, respectively, in consequence. Cédric was selected by Sébastien to be a part of the new Lankawaï tribe, which consisted of five original Lankawaï tribe members and four original Tinggi tribe members. In spite of the new group dynamics, the Lankawaï tribe became more united very quickly. Before the merge, the Lankawaï and Tinggi tribes selected Jeff and Cédric, respectively, to be the Ambassadors of their rivals. Both tribes correctly anticipated these selections, with Cédric planning on tricking Jeff into thinking that an alliance of the original Tinggi tribe members would still be possible and Jeff planning on getting Cédric and Nessim Kouachi to enter an alliance with the second Tinggi tribe members. At the Ambassadors' Meeting, Cédric masterfully convinced Jeff that Alban Pellegrin was too strategic to bring forward and the pair eliminated him, much to Jeff's eventual regret. With the second Lankawaï tribe members wanting to pagong the second Tinggi tribe members, they faced a problem concerning the merged tribe's first Tribal Council. Since Corinne Bargoin Samuelian would be exempt from attending due to being at the infirmary and since Charlaine Cuny would already have a black vote cast against her, there would be a tied vote should the second Tinggi tribe members vote against Charlaine. To circumvent this, Cédric convinced Jeff that Charlaine had a Hidden Immunity Necklace and that they should vote out Sébastien instead. Though the other second Tinggi tribe members questioned Cédric's sincerity, they followed Jeff in voting against Sébastien at Tribal Council. Meanwhile, the second Lankawaï tribe members blindsided Jeff, who then angrily realized that he had been conned all along by Cédric. The next cycle, Corinne was permanently evacuated and eliminated from the game due to an infection on her foot, so Jeff returned to the game in her place, turning the tables and putting Cédric in danger. With Cédric receiving Jeff's black vote and the second Tinggi tribe members' votes at Tribal Council, the second Lankawaï tribe members all voted against Mélissa to force a tie. However, Mélissa played her Hidden Immunity Necklace on herself, nullifying the votes cast against her and leaving Cédric to be eliminated.
