Buried Alive is a recurring tribal challenge on Australian Survivor.

Rules

Tribe members will be locked in cages. The rest of the tribe will need to maneuver the cages through an obstacle course. Once the caged members are across the course and freed, the tribe will complete a task to finish the challenge.

History

In Champions v Contenders (2018), the challenge debuted as the sixth tribal Immunity Challenge. The Champions and Contenders had to transport two members each in two cages. Once these members are freed at the end of the course, they will hurl coconuts at three glass targets. The first tribe to break all of their glass targets wins. The Contenders broke their losing streak in Immunity Challenges and won, sending the Champions to Tribal Council.

This challenge was used as the first post-switch Immunity Challenge in Heroes v Villains, where the final task was a jigsaw puzzle. The physically stacked new Villains tribe made quick work of the challenge, allowing them to breeze to an easy victory and send the Heroes to Tribal Council.
