Survivor Wiki

Brett Clouser is a contestant from Survivor: Samoa.

Brett layed low in the early stages of the game, becoming a member of the Galu Alliance. Despite Galu entering the merge with an 8-4 advantage over the Foa Foa Four, Brett's alliance was dismantled by a string of defections and Hidden Immunity Idols, leaving him as its last remaining member. He was able to stave off elimination, however, after going on an immunity run, until his loss at the Final Immunity Challenge caused him to fall short of the Final Tribal Council.

Hometown: Los Angeles, Calif.
Occupation: T-Shirt Designer

Brett Clouser grew up in Salem, Oregon before coming to LA in 2004 to attend Pepperdine University. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, Clouser first decided to go the corporate route, only to find his passions were elsewhere. Brett then pursued his dream of launching a cause based clothing company which would soon become, "The Monument of Our Hearts." An up-and-coming social entrepreneur, Clouser strives to leverage his brand to actively support and advocate for healthy body image.

Brett's flirtatious behavior with women could be his biggest asset in the game or it could be his biggest hindrance. "I'm going to try and put up the best wall I can, but I feel like I'm going to be a sucker for a couple of them."

Always a showman, Clouser loves to be in front of people and make them laugh. When he's not operating his clothing company, Brett can be found in his element, the great outdoors. Never a fan of the gym, Brett enjoys trail running and extreme outdoor activities. His charm and competitive nature will make him a dynamic player and force to be reckoned with on Survivor.

Brett is single and currently resides in Los Angeles, Calif. His birth date is December 27.[1]

Brett was initially placed on the Galu tribe, which dominated in Immunity Challenges, only losing once. During this time, Brett became a member of the Galu Alliance, which was itself divided into two factions: one with Brett, Dave Ball, Kelly Sharbaugh, and Monica Padilla, with Laura Morett as its leader, and the outsiders consisting of Erik Cardona, John Fincher, and Shambo Waters.

After the tribes merged on Day 19, Brett was the one to name the merged tribe Aiga. Due to their pre-merge success, the Galu Alliance held a comfortable 8-4 majority over their rival Foa Foa Four alliance. After John and Laura both won individual immunity, the alliance initially conspired to target the Foa Foa Four's Russell Hantz. However, after word got out that Russell H. had a Hidden Immunity Idol, Erik began strategizing with the Foa Foa Four to vote out Monica, Natalie White informed Monica and Laura's faction of this, which led to their entire faction, along with John, to side with the Foa Foa Four and blinside Erik. At the next Tribal Council, the Galu Alliance stuck together to vote against Russell H. Unbeknownst to them, however, Shambo leaked this plan to the Foa Foa Four, leading Russell H. to play his idol, sending Kelly to the jury.

With Shambo now openly siding with the Foa Foa Four, it seemed that the next Tribal Council would result in a tie between the two alliances. The next Tribal Council did in fact result in a tie between Laura and Natalie, with the tribe facing the possibility of drawing rocks if the revote resulted in a deadlock. Brett stuck with his alliance in the revote, but John ended up flipping to avoid drawing rocks, sending Laura home, and leaving Brett, Dave, and Monica in the minority. Now outnumbered, Brett and Monica joined the rest of the tribe in voting out Dave at the next Tribal Council in order to save themselves.

With just Brett and Monica remaining on the outside, the Foa Foa Four and Shambo targeted Brett next, seeing him as the biggest threat to win the Galu-majority jury's votes. However, Brett managed to win the next Immunity Challenge, and Monica was voted out. Over the next few days, Brett began developing stronger relationships with Natalie and Mick Trimming, seemingly driving a wedge in the majority. He then saved himself by winning two more Immunity Challenges, forcing the Foa Foa Four to vote out Shambo and Jaison Robinson to ensure that they had the strongest members remaining to beat Brett. At the Final Immunity Challenge, Brett barely lost to Russell H. and while Russell H. after asked him if he knew how to make fire, and considered forcing a tie and firemaking challenge with Mick, the trio of Mick, Natalie, and Russell H. stuck together and voted Brett, becoming the final jury member.

At the Final Tribal Council, Brett asked Mick what a "bro date" would be like with him. Unsatisfied with Mick's answer, Brett revealed that he asked this question to see to what level Mick invested in Brett as a human being. Brett voted for Natalie to be the Sole Survivor, because of the friendship they had formed, giving her the win in a 7-2-0 vote.

At the live Reunion Show, the jury revealed that Brett would have won had he made it to the end.
