So the swap kinda was worst case scenario if you wanted the Pagonging to be reversed:
Malolo: Angela, Desiree, James, Kellyn, Michael
Naviti: Bradley, Chelsea, Domenick, Donathan, Libby
Yanuya: Chris, Jenna, Laurel, Sebastian, Wendell
Every tribe of 5 had a 3-2 original Naviti majority. All hope was not lost....yet. I was hoping that if it happened in this format, the smaller amount of players would cause people to assess their relationships with players from both tribes. But unfortunately, the Pagonging continued, James was voted out and we are at 9-5. Yes, that's very close to the 9-4 super majorities Bayon and Nuku had in their respective 20 player seasons with 13 player merges. Millennials vs Gen X is starting to look a lot better in comparison.
Like an actual Ghost, Ghost Island disappeared this episode! It's still early days but Ghost Island is starting to look like a bust. A good modern Survivor season needs balance with its twists and so far the twists haven't usually worked out. A bit results oriented thinking though.
Libby is getting the Mikayla treatment by Domenick, yet Chris still manages to look like the bigger jerk out of those two. Not to be outdone, Bradley wins the episodes for most cocky confessional. A+ game? You had a 25% chance of going home at your first Tribal so let's not get carried away, Bradley.
I do not understand the logic behind Angela's decision to vote out James over Desiree. Her only connection on this tribe was with James. Sure it may pay in the short term to keep it Naviti strong but she doesn't seem high in the Naviti pecking order. However, under reported story that Michael has made some inroads with Naviti since Kellyn kept the target off of him.
James may be out but I'm glad we have footage in an episode of someone pointing out that tribal loyalty based on random tribe distribution is a bit ridiculous. Ok I'll stop complaining about the Pagonging now. As long as Chris and Domenick are butting heads we should at least have a good merge vote to look forward to.
But before the merge we still have one more episode. My question for you is what do you want to happen next episode? Who do you want to lose the next immunity challenge, who goes home, and who sets themselves up for a successful merge?
