Blue Lagoon Bustle is a recurring challenge on Survivor.
Rules
Tribes must race out into the water and swim through a series of obstacles (a net crawl, a barrel roll, and crate staircase) to retrieve puzzle pieces, then paddle back to shore. The remaining players from each tribe must then finish the final task on shore. The first tribe to complete the final task wins.
In Game Changers and Winners at War, the tribes instead had to first paddle out, retrieve an item, and go through the obstacles to get back to shore.
In Blood vs. Water and Game Changers, the final task was to complete a puzzle in the form of a captain's wheel. In Winners at War, the final task was to throw rings at a series of targets.
History
The challenge debuted in Blood vs. Water as the first Reward/Immunity Challenge. Six members of each tribe had to go through the course in the water, untie their boat, and paddle back to shore, where the last three members had to solve the captain's wheel puzzle. Tadhana took an early lead after Galang encountered a series of difficulties in the water. However, Galang's puzzle team was able to breeze through the puzzle as Tadhana's puzzle team struggled, winning Galang immunity and sending Tadhana to Tribal Council.
This challenge reappeared as the first Immunity Challenge in Game Changers. Seven members of each tribe had to paddle to a platform in the water, after which one of them must swim out to retrieve keys. They then had to go through the obstacles to get back to shore where two of them had to dig up two bags of puzzle pieces. The eighth member then had to use the keys to unlock the last bag of puzzle pieces, after which the last two members solve the captain's wheel puzzle. The tribes were relatively even throughout the challenge, but Nuku was able to edge ahead at the puzzle to win immunity, sending Mana to Tribal Council.
The challenge was again used as an Immunity Challenge in Winners at War. All nine members of each tribe had to paddle out and collect a bag of numbers before going through the obstacles to head back to shore. Once back on shore, one member had to use the numbers in the bag to solve a number combination to unlock three rings, which two members had to throw at three targets. Dakal took a massive lead heading into the final task after Sele struggled with the barrel roll, but Jeremy Collins was able to hit the targets with ease to allow Sele to win immunity and send Dakal to their first Tribal Council.
