Barry Lea (often referred to as Baz) is a contestant from Australian Survivor (2016).
Refusing to play the strategic game, Barry openly informed his tribemates that he would vote by drawing names out of a hat. Despite Barry's popularity within his tribe, his tribemates frowned upon this outdated style of gameplay and voted him out.

Occupation: Radio Host & Ex-Rugby International
State: QLD
Father of three boys, Cairns radio host Barry is a confident, articulate, laidback Aboriginal/South Sea Islander Aussie larrikin who has the gift of the gab.
With a big personality, Barry sees himself going into the game as a team player who is both loyal and motivating.
Planning to play the game with integrity and loyalty, Barry is hoping he will inspire people watching to have a go at life. He says: "The reason I wanted to be on Australian Survivor is to show other indigenous people to believe in themselves and not sit back and wait for things to happen. Take the opportunity when it comes your way."
Barry says his main goal is to "get through each night without screaming too loud if something touches me on the foot, leg, arm, ear, hand or head. Sleeping in the jungle and being in the dark is freaking me out."
Barry says the closest he has come to roughing it is sleeping in the back of a car in a carpark of a prestigious resort in Port Douglas. He says: "I also camped in the backyard one night until I heard a noise, got scared and ran back to bed and slept with the lights on."
While fear of the elements concerns him, Barry still thinks he has got what it takes to win.
"Money doesn't drive me. I've told my partner that if I won, half of the winnings would be donated to charity. I've always been big on helping those less fortunate and I want my sons to carry on that legacy."
Before working in radio, Barry was a rodeo clown and appeared in Australian feature films Paperback Hero and the television series The Straits. He has a professional sporting background, and has played Rugby Union for Australia in the Wallabies and the 7's. He was also part of the Queensland Reds and the English Rugby club, Sacarens.[1]
Australian Survivor[]
Barry began the game on the Vavau tribe, where he was quickly taken a liking to by his fellow tribemates. Despite his tribe struggling to sustain themselves due to breaking their flint, Vavau went on to win the first four Immunity Challenges, keeping Barry safe for the first ten days.
On Day 12, two of the three tribes were subjected to Tribal Council, meaning only one tribe would win immunity. Vavau's winning streak came to an end and Barry was faced with his first Tribal Council. Back at camp, Barry openly stated that he did not want to form any alliances, instead voting for whoever's name he drew from a hat. This put a target on his back as Nick tried to secure the numbers for his elimination. Luckily for Barry, the tribe deemed Nick to untrustworthy and blindsided him instead. In a surprise twist, Nick was spared for elimination and was merely switched to the Saanapu tribe, choosing to bring Tegan along with him. In their place, the person voted off Saanapu, Conner and Sam joined Vavau.
After losing their third consecutive challenge on Day 14, Vavau was faced with another Tribal Council. While the original Vavau members were initially targeting outsider Conner, Barry continued with his strategy of drawing names from a hat. This continued to put a target on his back and after Conner pledged his allegiance to the new Vavau, his tribe considered voting Barry out instead. At Tribal, Barry ended up voting for Sue, but his tribemates deemed him as too unreliable, voting him out unanimously.
