Aurah Ruiz

Aurah Ruiz is a contestant from Supervivientes 2024.

While she adapted well to island life and was noted for doing much of the work in camp, her adversarial relationships with contestants such as Rocío Madrid and especially Ángel Cristo Jr. provided much of the drama regarding the internal politics during the first part of the series. She was voted out shortly afterwards, having been saved many times by the public vote, at one point being tipped to win.^[2]^[3]

En su vídeo de presentación, la mujer de Jesé Rodríguez deja muy claro su objetivo en el concurso: "Estoy en mi mejor momento y vengo a ganar Supervivientes. Prepárense para conocer a la verdadera Aurah", declara.^[4]

Before her arrival in Honduras, Aurah attracted a degree of controversy over a social media image she had posted, which many commented looked edited, and she was quick to respond sarcastically to the slightly rude comments she received.^[5] Aurah provided much of the early controversy on the show with her outburst at fellow contestant Rocío Madrid at Tribal Council on the first episode, however was supported by her husband, ex-footballer Jesé Rodríguez. After finding out she would not be voted out that night, she attracted ire for her relief at being able to stay, at which host Carlos Sobera was also less than impressed.^[6] She did, however, have fans such as ex-contestant Isabel Pantoja.^[7]

In the middle of the series, Aurah got into a prolonged battle with Ángel Cristo Jr., and repeated visits to the Bridge of Concord didn't help to mediate their arguments. It reached a head around the time Ángel was voted out, with other castaways saying that their feud was making life on the island feel increasingly toxic. When Ángel was removed from the game due to going out of bounds, Aurah took one last stab at him, chastising him for not being able to see his children, while he remarked "that's the only thing you women know how to do, trample over men", a quip widely perceived as sexist.^[8]

Aurah was given the choice after the next reward challenge of either eating a burger or reading a letter from her husband Jesé Rodríguez. She picked the hamburger, but was allowed to read the letter when she was soon voted out herself. "You are a great woman, a fighter and my champion. I am proud to have a woman like you at my side and to have married you." She was pleased to leave, saying she felt full and happy.^[9]

Post-Supervivientes[]

Upon her return to Madrid, Aurah appeared on Tierra de nadie, the Tuesday night episode of the show. She asked for Ángel Cristo Jr.'s forgiveness for how she had treated him on the show. She said that she felt that, despite her strong support from viewers, she lost due to the split fanbase between her and Marieta, saying: "I think they supported me, even in this vote it was very close. The percentage. What happened was that Marieta also had her people. We were two people with lots of support."^[10]
