Arranging a Hit is the twelfth episode of Survivor: Cook Islands.
Story
Day 31
While chopping coconuts, Parvati Shallow cuts her finger and gets medical attention and receives stitches. At the Reward Challenge, the castaways compete with their loved ones for a reward to another island and a picnic with their loved ones as they pick two more castaways to join them. Parvati wins and sends Jonathan Penner to Exile Island; her dad picks two other castaways to join them on the reward - he picks Sundra Oakley and Adam Gentry. At the reward, the three castaways and their loved ones are welcomed by locals and experience the local culture.
Day 32
Yul Kwon, Becky Lee, and Ozzy Lusth hide the coconuts and other foodstuffs so that Parvati and Adam are unable to have energy for the challenges. Adam, Parvati, and Sundra bring back food from the reward for Yul, Ozzy, and Becky. This causes Yul, Ozzy, and Becky to feel guilty and take the food out from hiding to share with the entire tribe. Jonathan returns at the Immunity Challenge where Ozzy wins his second immunity.
Day 33
Adam tries to strike a deal with Yul to help him if he votes Jonathan. Jonathan tries to see if he's on the chopping block or if Adam is. At Tribal Council, the Raro Alliance talk about how Jonathan's personality make them not like him.
In the end, Jonathan was voted out in a unanimous 6-1 vote.
Challenges
Challenge: Pass the Bucket
Blindfolded, the castaways will retrieve seawater in a bucket and throw the water to their guiding loved one, who pours it into a barrel, which will eventually lower and raise a flag.
Reward: A trip to another island with the winner's loved one, where the locals will take them to a sacred cave, where they will have a picnic including fried chicken, meatloaf, and apple pie.
Winner: Parvati Shallow (shared with Adam Gentry and Sundra Oakley; exiled Jonathan Penner)
Challenge: Floatsam and Jetsam
The contestants must swim to a pontoon and cross over a group of outrigger canoes, balance beams, and pontoons to reach the other end of the course. They will then jump into the water, swim to the buoys, untying two bundles of sticks from buoys at the end of the course instead of diving for flags, then using the sticks and rope to build a long pole and retrieve two rings.
Winner: Ozzy Lusth

Voting Confessionals
![]() Becky | “ | (voting against Jonathan) Basically, after everything that's been said here at Tribal Council, plus your behavior at the food auction and the fish incident... I think I really saw your true self come out. That's why I'm sending you home tonight. | ” |
![]() Sundra | “ | (voting against Jonathan) The funny thing about this is it seems like everyone in this game had negative, suspicious feelings about you. I hope to God that I am wrong and I would love to be proven wrong. But thank you and I am glad that we could rely on your greed to help us progress a little further. | ” |
![]() Jonathan | “ | (voting against Adam) Um, what can I say? You're the biggest threat to me. You deserve to go home. | ” |
![]() Parvati | “ | (voting against Jonathan) I'm just gonna keep voting for you until you're gone. And thanks for going to Exile because I think it showed everyone that life is so much better without a big, crazy, crazy guy around at camp. | ” |
![]() Ozzy | “ | (voting against Jonathan) Waited for this move for a long time. This is for Cao Boi, for Flicka, for Nate, and just cause you're a cocky guy. | ” |
![]() Adam | “ | (voting against Jonathan) You should have been voted out a long time ago. Hopefully, we got it right this time. | ” |
![]() Yul | “ | (voting against Jonathan) Jonathan, you've been a great competitor and a really great strategist. I've really enjoyed playing the game with you and it actually works against you. I'm sorry to see you go. If you had never stepped off that mat, then I believe we'd be going to the final four together, but you did. And my original, highest allegiance has to be with the people who stayed with me. So wish you the best, and I'll see you at the end. | ” |
Final Words
![]() Jonathan | “ | These people are terrible liars, terrible liars. I wish they had told me to my face, but they didn't do that because there would be an argument and obviously, they didn't want to hear me talking anymore. Now they will have a peaceful camp and they will have to deal with each other and stabbing each other in the back as if that is a new thing in the game of Survivor. Four of those six people are going to join me on the jury soon enough. | ” |

Trivia
- With this episode, Jonathan Penner broke the record for most votes in an single season previously held by Rory Freeman from Survivor: Vanuatu, with 15 votes . This record would stand until Phillip Sheppard broke it in "You Mangled My Nets".
- Jonathan's statement about how four of the people who voted him out would be jurors turned out to be incorrect, as he was not anticipating three castaways facing the jury.
