Andrew Torrens is a contestant from Australian Survivor (2016).
Andrew quickly formed a majority alliance on Vavau, viewing himself as the mastermind. Wanting to keep the power in his hands after the tribe dissolve, he targeted the minority former Aganoa members. However, Andrew was viewed as a physical liability and strategic threat by most of his tribe and after losing a third consecutive Immunity Challenge, Craig I'Anson and Kate Campbell flipped on his alliance, blindsiding him in a 4-3 vote.

Not everyone is willing to walk into Australian Survivor and announce their devious intentions but this is exactly what Andrew plans to do.
A marketing professional from Brisbane, Andrew has over 10 years' experience in the corporate world. He has worked across a wide sector of businesses from roofing and engineering to drill rigs, and he is currently working at a water technology company.
An avid poker player, Andrew plans to use his skills to get into the minds of his opponents and says he won't hold back when it comes to playing the game.
"My true allegiance is to my family at home. I have told them I will lie, cheat and steal to win this game for them. My word means nothing, I will swear on whatever and whoever I need to swear on and have no issue with breaking promises. I have no moral compass guiding me in this game."
Andrew is argumentative and strategic, and even his partner of nine years thinks that his arrogance and lack of outdoor skills will see him voted out first.
Andrew says: "I'm going to go from working 9 to 5 in an air-conditioned office to living on an island battling the elements. This is extremely out of the norm of my usual existence."
Growing up in what he describes as a rough area of Queensland, Andrew learnt to fight to get what he wanted. He is appreciative of everything his parents sacrificed to put him through school and dislikes people who receive handouts in life.
"People that have received handouts from their parents all of their lives are a pet hate for me. I've come from very humble beginnings, having grown up in a housing commission estate where money was very difficult to come by. I know what it is like to have a little and what it is like to now have a lot and I can survive and thrive on both."
"My parents have sacrificed to ensure my siblings and I had a stable childhood. They are now retired pensioners and if I win, I want to send them on holiday. I know it would mean the world to them and would mean the world to me."
When he is not playing poker, Andrew also enjoys travelling, snowboarding, cricket and watching Survivor.[1]
