Ambassadors

The Ambassadors is a recurring twist that happens in every season of Koh-Lanta immediately before the merge. Each tribe must name an emissary who will attend a special meeting. There, the ambassadors must make a decision that affects the game.

History[]

In the first seasons, the Ambassadors had to agree on rather minimal hindrances for their fellow castaways. Introduced in the first season, the Ambassadors met right before the merge and had to decide on a castaway to cast an extra vote against, which would apply at the merged tribe's first post-merge Tribal Council. Except for Nicoya, where the Ambassadors only have to choose the camp the merged tribe will live at, this iteration of the twist was used through to Caramoan.

In Le Retour des Héros, the format changed, and the Ambassadors instead have to unanimously decide which castaway to eliminate from the game before the merge. If they cannot come to an agreement, they must draw rocks, with the Ambassador who picks the black rock being eliminated immediately.
