Alan Sheffield Ball is a contestant from Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.

Coming out of the gate, Alan was quick to accuse JP Hilsabeck and Ashley Nolan of being a power couple and having a Hidden Immunity Idol, and even forced JP to strip to prove he did not have an idol. After the Tribe Switch, he developed a rivalry with Joe Mena and set aside his feud with Ashley out of necessity. When his tribe lost immunity on Day 11, he was blindsided at the subsequent Tribal Council after Joe played a Hidden Immunity Idol.

Profile

Retrieved from CBS.com

Age: 31[sic]
Hometown: Detroit, Mich.
Current residence: Houston, Texas
Occupation: NFL Player
Hobbies: Golf, scuba diving, and riding my motorcycle.
Pet peeves: I can't stand liars or people who feel entitled. I also can't do clutter and people who don't clean up after themselves.
Three words to describe you: Intelligent, athletic, and clever.
What's your personal claim to fame? Being a seventh round draft pick and grinding for nine years in the NFL.
Who or what is your inspiration in life? My parents. They are my best friends. I respect the both for their work ethic, and everything they instilled in me. My parents have been married for 30+ years and I know that takes work.
If you could have three things on the island, what would they be and why? Hot sauce because it makes everything better, a picture of my wife because sometimes just looking at her changes my mood, and baby wipes!
Survivor contestant you're most like: I honestly don't think you will see gameplay like mine; one of the only things I have in common with people on past seasons is there was a winner.
What's your reason for being on Survivor: Playing football has fed my drive to compete physically for a long time. Of course there are mental aspects but I feel like this is competing mentally, physically, and strategically. I also want to win on my own merit—no coaches, no practice—just me winning outside of something I've done for years.
Why do you think you'll "survive" Survivor? Everything I've accomplished I've had to scratch and claw at it. I've never been given anything or put in situations to succeed. My life has always been about proving people wrong and I feed on that, here is another shot.[2]

Survivor

Alan started as a member of the Levu tribe where he was quick to form an alliance with Ben Driebergen, Ashley Nolan, and JP Hilsabeck. However, as quick as this majority alliance began, it would disintegrate when Alan accused JP and Ashley of being a power couple due to how close they were becoming and forced JP to strip to prove that he was not in possession of a Hidden Immunity Idol. The alliance stuck together despite this and voted out Katrina Radke at the first Tribal Council.

The Levu tribe enjoyed two consecutive immunity wins, though Alan's aggressive nature turned many off from aligning with him as Ben, who he first formed the alliance with, began working with Chrissy Hofbeck to form a dominant alliance on the tribe going forward.

On Day 9, a Tribe Switch occurred before the Reward Challenge and Alan remained on the Levu tribe along with Ashley and now joined by Devon Pinto from Yawa, as well as Joe Mena and Desi Williams from Soko. Alan and Ashley buried the hatchet and needed to pull in Devon as their swing vote to get rid of Desi or Joe. The new Levu tribe lost immunity on Day 11 and Joe planned to deflect votes onto himself by starting a fight with Alan and Ashley in hopes of playing his Hidden Immunity Idol to keep both himself and Desi safe. At Tribal Council, the group learned that Devon's vote had been blocked by former Soko member Jessica Johnston's advantage. After the vote, Joe played his idol on himself after seeing from Ashley's facial expressions and deduced that they had voted for him and Alan was sent home in a 2-0 vote, becoming the fourth person to be voted out of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.
