Koh-Lanta[]
Alain was selected by Wendy Gervois to be a part of the Karwaï tribe. Upon losing the third immunity challenge, the Karwaï tribe held the dishonour of losing six tribal challenges in a row, a Koh-Lanta record. When the tribe switch occurred at the beginning of the fourth cycle, Alain was selected by Laureen Hugel to be a part of the new Karwaï tribe, which consisted of four original Aopoh tribe members and four original Karwaï tribe members. The second Karwaï tribe won all of the remaining tribal immunity challenges, allowing for Alain to not have to worry about Tribal Council again until the merge. After the tribes merged, the second Karwaï tribe members, for the most part, pagonged the second Aopoh tribe members. At the Final Seven, Pascal Salviani formed a Final Four alliance with Alain, Wendy, and Gabriel Gubbels and the quartet planned on voting out Nicolas Rouyé at the next Tribal Council. However, after Nicolas won the fifth individual immunity challenge, they instead voted out Karima Najjarine, who was their secondary target. At the Final Six, Nicolas won the fifth individual reward challenge but forfeited the corresponding reward to Alain as the latter had only benefitted from an individual reward once before. Additionally, when Cécilia Siharaj accidentally spilled a good portion of the tribe's rice supply the next day, Alain noticed this but suggested to Cécilia that they cover it up and promised to not tell anyone. Having had these recent good interactions with the outsiders, Alain surprised them when he disclosed to them that he, Wendy, Gabriel, and Pascal were planning on blindsiding Nicolas at Tribal Council. Erroneously thinking that Karima had cast her black vote against Pascal upon exiting the previous Tribal Council, Alain told Nicolas and Cécilia that he would be willing to vote out Pascal with them instead. At Tribal Council, Alain changed his mind yet again, sticking with his Final Four alliance and voting out Nicolas, who in turn exposed Alain's hesitancy to the rest of the tribe before exiting. Alain's allies were frustrated with him upon returning to camp and, to make matters worse, he damaged his relationship with Wendy when he chose to sabotage her instead of Gabriel at the sixth individual reward challenge. Knowing that he was now potentially in danger for increasingly angering his allies, Alain tried to makes things right while throwing Cécilia under the bus by disclosing the rice incident to his allies. However, this backfired on Alain as his allies concluded that Alain was dishonest about an important mistake and that he broke a promise that he had made to Cécilia in order to save himself. With the entire tribe feeling that Alain no longer deserved to continue in the competition, he was unanimously voted out at the last Tribal Council before the finale.
