A Bit Tipsy (also known as Got a Hunch, Discy Business, Another Brick in the Wall, and Let There Be Rock) is a recurring challenge from Survivor. It debuted in Survivor: Blood vs. Water and reappeared later in San Juan del Sur, Kaôh Rōng, Game Changers, Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, Ghost Island, David vs. Goliath, and Edge of Extinction.
Rules
The castaways must on a rope attached to an unbalanced table to keep the table level. They must stack a wooden block on end and hold on to the rope to keep the block upright. They must then retrieve one of nine wooden blocks from three stations while keeping all the blocks on the table upright. Once the block is retrieved, the castaway would have to stack the block on the table and retrieve the other blocks. Should any of the blocks fall, the castaway would have to return to the table and re-stack the blocks (or have to completely restart as done in Kaôh Rōng) before retrieving any more blocks. The first castaway to have all ten blocks standing for a three count would win the challenge.
In Kaôh Rōng and Game Changers, the castaways had to stack the blocks on top of one another to spell out the word "Immunity". This same version of the challenge was used in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers and Ghost Island, but modified for tribal use. Tribe members would stand on balance beams in a semi-circle around the platform in the middle, and each would hold on to a rope that connected to the platform. One by one, the castaways would place one of eight blocks on the platform and stack them to spell out "Immunity" in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers and "Reward" in Ghost Island.
In David vs. Goliath, the challenge was modified to include a water element. There was also a puzzle that had to be solved while five members of each tribe negotiated the tilt-table.
History
In the challenge's first appearance in Blood vs. Water, Tyson Apostol defeated Gervase Peterson and Monica Culpepper in a close race to win immunity.
The challenge reappeared as the final seven Immunity Challenge in San Juan del Sur. It came down to a race between Jon Misch and Keith Nale to stack their final block. However, Keith dropped his stack, allowing Jon the opening to win immunity.
It reappeared as the final six Immunity Challenge in Kaôh Rōng. Most of the castaways had problems with their stack falling over. Cydney Gillon, however, despite being in last place early on, remained slow and steady the whole time, and won immunity after Kyle Jason, who was in the lead, dropped all of his blocks.
The challenge reappeared in the eighth episode of Game Changers, where it came down to Troyzan Robertson and Brad Culpepper. Troyzan won immunity after Brad dropped his blocks.
The challenge appeared in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers as a tribal Immunity Challenge, with the tribes spelling "Immunity" on a central platform. The lead switched several times as the tribes figured strategies to keep their stacks steady. After an extremely close race between all three tribes, Yawa finished their stack first to win immunity, followed by Levu, sending Soko to Tribal Council.
The challenge was again used in Ghost Island as a tribal Reward Challenge, under the same design as Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, but spelling "Reward", including the Ghost Island logo on both ends. All three tribes held on to the lead at some point before their stacks fell. Naviti was able to finish their stack first to win reward. Yanuya then beat Malolo to take second.
In David vs. Goliath, the challenge was used as a tribal Immunity Challenge, and was modified once again. Alec Merlino allowed Goliath an early lead, while the David tribe fell behind. However, David managed to catch up as the tribes spent over an hour in the heat on the puzzle section of the challenge. In the end, Goliath managed to win the challenge as the David tribe struggled hopelessly on the puzzle, culminating in David's second consecutive loss.
The challenge was used as the Final Immunity Challenge in Edge of Extinction. The final four had to balance blocks vertically to spell out "Final 3" on the ledge at the end of a rocking walkway. Chris Underwood took a slow and steady approach, while others, including his closest competitors Gavin Whitson and Julie Rosenberg, continued to fail, allowing Chris to win Immunity. However, Chris gave the Immunity Necklace to Julie at Tribal Council that night.
