Se separó de Marka, la madre de Pepe, cuando este era sólo un niño. De la educación y crianza del niño se encargó ella sola. Pepe no le conoció hasta hace un año y desde entonces se han hecho inseparables. Van juntos a todas partes y se complementan a la perfección. Es un hombre amable, tranquilo, pausado, extremadamente educado y es un gran apasionado de los perros. De el se ha dicho que es el principal "culpable" del triunfo de Pepe en GH VII gracias a la defensa que hizo de su hijo en los platós de Telecinco. Sabe conquistar a las mujeres y consiguió engatusar con su verborrea a Mercedes Milá y a Bea, la concursante que más problemas tuvo con su hijo en la casa. Es un viajero incansable y cada año cumple una cita obligada con el Caribe.[2]

Ángel came to fame as the supportive father of his son Pepe, when he appeared on Gran Hermano in 2005, eventually winning the show. Pepe then convinced Ángel to accept Telecinco's offer to appear on Supervivientes.
Despite early success in the game and a general acceptance that he was the "grandfather" of the tribe, the physical aspect of the show took its toll on Ángel, who complained of extreme skinniness and back pain. Eventually he asked the audience to vote him out on 14 June, saying to the other contestants, "Remember it's just a game."[3]

Post-Supervivientes[]
- Ángel was praised for his role in the game upon his return to Spain, and castaways suspected that he could have won had he stayed in the game. Telecinco's website said that "Ángel's behaviour has been one of the most exemplary on the island."[4]
- Ángel lived a life away from the limelight after leaving Supervivientes and died in 2025, with Jesús de Manuel paying tribute.[5]
